Five Questions with Kevin Rudolf -- Exclusive!
Kevin Rudolf has come a long way since his debut single, “Let It Rock,” which was certified triple platinum. JustJared.com caught up with the Miami songwriter-producer, so check out the exclusive Q&A below!
KR: It happened out of nowhere! I was writing with Fefe Dobson for her album. We were working on her single “Ghost” and then came up with “Round and Round” in the middle of it. It wasn’t totally right for Fefe’s vibe but I sent it to Selena and she loved it. She cut it in Budapest and sent the vocals back to me.
JJ: What can we expect from your new album, To The Sky? How does it differ from your earlier music?
KR: To the Sky is my evolution. Coming out of darkness into light. After struggling for a long time I started to live out my dreams and that’s what the album represents. To the Sky is dreams and unlimited potential for anything you want to make happen.
JJ: Congratulations on your BMI Pop Award – what was your reaction when you found out you’d been honored?
KR: Thanks! It was honestly one of the best nights of my life. I was really almost moved to tears. It was so great to be honored amongst my peers. I felt like everything came full circle for me that night. Songwriting is my true passion and that’s what the BMI awards are all about.
JJ: You recently shared your favorite songs for summer with MTV already – what’s your favorite summer song that’s on the radio now?
KR: I’m diggin “Find Your Love” by Drake right now. It’s very musical and its different.
JJ: Who else are you dying to collaborate with?
