OlderNatalie Portman as Ballerina in 'Black Swan' -- FIRST LOOK
Check out this sneak peek of Natalie Portman as a prima ballerina in Black Swan, a ballet-themed thriller with psychological twists due in late fall.
The 29-year-old actress plays Nina, a ballerina chosen as the lead in a NYC production of Swan Lake. Her rival Lily (Mila Kunis) is a sultry dancer who exhibits all the innate ease and sexuality that Nina lacks. To say the least, the two forge an unusual relationship.
Nat shared with USA Today, “The character was very interesting to play, always challenging and surprising. The fact that I had spent so much time with the idea — [director Darren Aronofsky] and I started discussing doing the film in 2000 — allowed it to marinate a little before we shot.”
She added, “I took ballet until I was 13. I had always hoped to do a dance film. It is the most emotional form of expression.”
There is a lot of buzz about Nat and Mila sharing an intimate girl-on-girl scene. Mila explained, “Anything sexual in this film is not there for the sake of being sexual. I think people are hoping it’s like two girls making out and pillow fighting. It’s not smut.”

I’m looking forward to this. I read a bit of the script months ago (or a draft of it anyway) and it was just really equivocal and intriguing.
Natalie Portman is amazing! She’s one of the best actresses of her generation, and she seems focus just on her career, not on the “celebrity-status”.

she has that look that angelina jolie so often has. a way of holding herself as though she is some kind of regal queen. this is the very time it actually pissed me off – the subtle, thinly veiled arrogance of it.

They’re both so stunningly gorgeous and mysteriously intriguing though….It’s hard to be pissed by their arrogant looks for long. I’m looking forward to watching this movie, it sounds weird but very interesting.

Ooh, the makeup and costumes look great! Portman is gorgeous, but I’ve always found her acting to be very forced and phony. Aronofsky is a genius though, and I like Mila Kunis a lot.
