Rachel McAdams looks pensive as she sits on the set of her new film Midnight in Paris on Thursday (July 29) in Paris, France.
The 31-year-old Canadian actress was joined by costar Owen Wilson and director Woody Allen as they filmed well into the night.
The new romantic comedy revolves around a couple traveling to Paris for business, only to be transformed about the way they think about life. The film also features a cameo by France’s First Lady, Carla Bruni.

By the way, she played in “Red Eye” – thriller and “State of Play” which is also thriller and detective movie!
I like her myself. But seems she has never lived up to her “IT” girl status since The Notebook they say. She was supposed to be THE next young Hollywood actress but it just didn’t happen for her. Wonder if it’s because of her film choices or something about her people just don’t find likeable maybe. She’s pretty but comes across as a little cold and standofish maybe to the public I think.
I don’t think The Notebook or Sherlock Holmes were considered romantic comedies!

I love Rachel. She is beautiful, smart and a great actress and doesn’t act like a Hollywood brat. But her age, hasnt she been 31 for like 3 years now? I mean she looks young, not even 31 but I am confused. I loved her in The Notebook and how funny was she is Mean Girls! I will never forget the scene where her character she finds out she has been eating the high cal bars and she starts screaming and going nuts – that cracks me up everytime. Hope Rachel finds lots more success, she deserves it.

She’s not cold or standoffish at all. She’s a genuine sweetheart. I met her at Pearson Airport in Toronto. So kind and nice. She was interested in where I was going. We had a friendly conversation.

I agree that she faded before living up to her early “it” status. Sometimes you just have to play the Hollywood game and keep your name out there, especially when you have several flops in a row.

Rachel was born in 1978. My sister-in-law went to grade school with her, and my ex went to college with her. 1978.
I was there when they were shooting at Place Vendome. It was amazing how many people were around the set tryiing to see her and Woody
