Lindsay Lohan Freed From Jail, Now In Rehab

Lindsay Lohan was released from California’s Lynwood jail on Monday morning (August 2).

Thanks to good behavior and severe overcrowding, the 24-year-old actress only served 13 full days of a 90-day sentence.

Lindsay Lohan was released from the custody of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department at 1.35 am, on August 2, 2010, pursuant to satisfying the completion of her jail sentence,” Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Steve Whitmore said in a statement. “Ms Lohan served her time in custody without incident. Per a court order, Ms Lohan was released directly into a treatment program and is now under the jurisdiction of that program by way of the Los Angeles County Probation Department.”

To complete the second phase of her sentence for violating probation in a 2007 drug case, Lindsay will begin a three-month stint in rehab at the UCLA Medical Center.

I love Lindsay and I’m rooting for her. I want her to get back on track with her messed up life but geez, only 13 days out of 90?! WTF?! She’ll never learn the lesson if she’s always freed early from all responsibility…. I don’t care about the “oh-she-behaved-so-well-while-in-jail” ish. If she was sent in jail in the first place, they msut have really wanted her to go there so don’t take any pity when you want to be severe with her!!! And yeah, I’m talking to the law. XD … Seriously, if she was to be released early like this, she shouldn’t have been sent at all. It is SO useless. Ugh. These celebrities get away with about EVERYTHING! :/ … Anyway, I hope she’ll get better and stop acting stupid. She was once so adorable and TALENTED..The parent trap, remember? Get well, honey =)

  • Courtney

Like jail did her any good. Maybe had she been there through her 90 days did it have a chance but all it did was get her publicity. At least for rehab she’s be made to serve the full 3 months.

  • offtheproperty

I like the role of her as Wacktress Interrupted better than Prison Dyke. I really hope UCLA helps her and I think it probly will. Beats jail, right LL?

  • http://bit.ly/aJocm2 The Desolate One

This is just another example showing how stars get preferential treatment. We’re supposed to believe that there’s “severe over crowding” in a W OMEN’S prison. http://bit.ly/aJocm2 If it were a men’s prison, I could believe that, but the statistics show that women aren’t out there committing crimes anywhere NEAR the rate that MEN are. She got out in 13 days because of WHO SHE IS. If that were a black female crackhead under the same charges, she’d be serving the FULL 90 days.

I think Jail time was too extreme to begin with. The Judge said she wanted to make an example of Lindsay, which I don’t think is fair. The law should be the same for everyone.
I think rehab and a fine would’ve fair enough to begin with, but then I’m not in law and it doesn’t really matter what I think.
I hope she gets better, she has the potential to be a great actress hopefully she’ll get back on track if that’s what she wants.

    Party time for Lindsay

  • kraken

    a) LOL FUNNY PIC

    and

    b) does early release happen often? or is this a special thing that only celebs have access to??

  • http://J Ivanka

    Wow celeb treatment much?

  • lulu

90 days should be 90 days.
I hope her time in rehab is NOT diminished.
She isn’t learning anything if she keeps receiving exeptions to the sanctions everyone else would have to fulfill as well.
The judge has the responsability to give (or force) LL enough time (and of a time-out) of her weird life to get a grip on what life really is.
BTW LL’s father is better off locked away and reprogrammed as well.

so she only spent 13 days in jail?! This girl will be back on drugs I have a feeling

  • Catherine

That is freaking bullshit, next thing we know a murderer sentenced to 10 years will get out after a month.

What message does this send to other drugusers? especially teens, “don’t worry, if you get caught, you won’t even have to spend a week in jail no matter how long you were sentenced, if you behave. “

  • http://truebloodhigh.com/ Franck

    This is SO unfair !!!
Just because she is famous ! Bullsh*t !!!!

  • J. Ryan

Seriously, I get that her keepers think they’re helping her by protecting her but if she doesn’t have consequences she’s gonna be dead in the next 5 years.

  • Amy

Bull shit. I agree with J. Ryan, you keep letting her off the hook she’s going tokill herself and some innocent person who happens to be in the wrong place. How many DUI’s has she gotten away with now?

  • m

wtf? special treatment? that would never happened if she wasnt famous, lucky b*tch, i hate when they do that, she should spend there 90 days no matter what like other people, shes not special, she could kill someone driving car after drinking, what kind of lesson that is to her now? stupid s*kank :[

  • http://mynando.com Nando

Bull crap! She got released early because she’s a celebrity. That’s injustice and it’s stupid. The system favors the rich and famous. Dumb…

  • Sadie

    SO STUPID!!!!
She can’t get her act together after this! 13 days is nothing! And the rehab is going to be no use. She wont take anything away from it when people give her special treatment.
If she had spent 90 days in jail, she would have been thankful.
Lindsay will end up back in jail or worse. In a coffin.

One day, Lilo will walk down Malibu boulevard, clean as a whistle, once Hollywood completely bites her apart, where she will be free to retain herself without a single photographer or journalist in sight.

  • shaCHEER11

maybe the judge thought that if she spent the entire 90 days she would LEARN to RESPECT the law and see her mistakes. letting her out that early only shows her that shes above the law and other people will take care of her. lindsay can only change if she sees what shes doing to herself and others. my two cents, shes 24. grow up and take accountability of your actions and deal with the consequences!!!

  • Lala

    @VLC

Jail time too extreme?? Most states give a minimum of 90 days for a third DUI. She had 2 DUIs… plus multiple other incidents that would leave the judge to believe she’s a danger to herself and others. Jail seems pretty appropriate to me! Too bad she only had to serve 13 days.

If they really wanted to make an example out of her, they would have kept her in for the full 90!
In fact, they should have kept her in for the full 90, just for the blatant disregard to the court and justice system.

  • rsac3

I hope she stays there forever!!!

  • kim

What on earth is wrong with every body?!!!!
If we think the treatment is too harsh address that. If we think drug offenders should not get jail time address that.
But the real out rage that no one is touching on” is thousands of everyday people are incarcerated across this country in every state! Of all races for far far less crimes and the penalty are always much harsher with almost no break.
If the average poor struggling citizen had done what this woman did it’s a good chance they would be in prison! Not jail!
They get a slap on the hand put in special custody special protected custody, lesser charges that for us would be felony crimes and then they are let out early! Not even serving half of the little very little time the courts give them!

  • emma

Haha that photo in the context of all of this…

  • Jaye

When are people going to stop saying the jail time was extreme. Within the law and the scope of what she did, she could have gotten 1 year JUST for the DUI convictions. She got 90 days. BIG DEAL! She only served 13 of those. Even regular people get released early depending on good behavior, the severity of their crimes and over-crowding, but I doubt many of them would have served only 13 days of a 90 day sentence. She’s not special, she’s a CONVICTED criminal.

With drug addicts, especially ones like Lindsay who has been to rehab more than once, jail time is found to be helpful. It’s call a ‘reality check’, what she does with it is up to her. Rehab before was just a publicity stunt for her, she wasn’t serious about it. Now, she has no choice, she has to say the full 90 days.
    -
It’s a good thing that they’re restricting visitation; the last thing she needs is her family coming there every day feeding her nonsense. Her mother is delusional ( she actually thinks Lindsay is a BIG star) and would undercut anything the counselors would tell Lindsay by reaffirming Lindsay’s feeling that she’s a victim. Oh, Lindsay knows how to say she’s accountable with words, but nothing in her actions has ever shown that she really believes that.
    -
I hope she makes every effort to get better, but first she has to admit that she has a problem and that she cannot stay sober without help. Her family needs to be in group therapy too; they’re a bunch of publicity hounds and wannabes. I haven’t seen any of them make Lindsay’s health a priority. Her mother is just living vicariously through her; her father is just after attention and her sister wants to use Lindsay’s limited status as a celebrity to get herself a career in show business.
