A collection of Michael Jackson‘s never-before-released music is reportedly hitting shelves by the end of this year, but not everyone is supportive of the endeavor.

The Black Eyed, who collaborated with Michael on 2008′s rerelease of Thriller, said, “I don’t think that should ever come out. That’s bad.”

“He was a perfectionist and he wouldn’t have wanted it that way,” Will added (via AP). “How you gonna release Michael Jackson when Michael Jackson ain’t here to bless it?”

“Now that he is not part of the process, what are they doing? Why would you put a record out like that?” he continued. “Because he was a friend of mine, I just think that’s disrespectful. What’s wrong with what he already contributed to the world?”

DO YOU THINK it’s disrespectful to release Michael Jackson’s music after his death?

Not Sure if that is ok. But he sure is making more money dead than alive.

  • zzzz

No it’s not disrespectful-we all know these aren’t Michael’s personal picks,so if they don’t have their usual perfection, we understand.

  • well

It’s not a very respectful idea considering the fact that all these people wanting to release his work just want $$$

  • Denise

    I agree with Will 100%!

  • Sadie

Finally! someone spoke up about this! It is WRONG.
MJ had a great career and I feel like its stupid to release anything new when he isn’t here with us anymore…
Its sad what people do for money.

  • GirlFromPHI

I think it’s disrespectful because: 1) They didn’t ask MJ’s permission. It’s his work. You need his permission to release it. 2) If not all, people producing it only wants the money. 3) We don’t want MJ’s passion for perfection be destroyed because of this and it’s not even destroyed because of MJ, it’s destroyed by the people left here at Earth.

  • K.T.

I don’t think it’s disrespectful and I don’t think Michael would be upset that his fans got some new material. Of course it’s not gonna be like he wanted being a perfectionist, but as long as the music is handed over to professionals like Quincy Jones, Missy, Timbaland, then it can be some high quality stuff.

  • gregr

It may be considered disrespectful, but whoever is in charge of all things Michael Jackson gave the O.K. Michael was in debt when he died. That doesn’t just go away if there is a way to get payment.

  • it’s disrespectful because Michael always made sure his music was exactly the way he wanted it and now he’s not here to do that.

I think they should just let the king Of Pop rest in peace.

Stop trying to rig money out of him.

  • Joel

    I agree with Will!

  • ICU

I agree and can see how it could be perceived as disrespectful, at the same time, Michael’s fans love him so much that we would love anything from him, perfect or not:) He is the King, always will be the KIng, imperfections and all… everything he created cannot be duplicated… the one and only “MUSIC MINISTER”!

  • D

It is unfortunate that MJ is not here to approve or disapprove of this material being released, because he was a perfectionist and maybe wouldn’t have wanted some of these songs released unless they were amazing. However, he has hundreds of songs that his fans are never heard, and who knows, maybe he would have wanted them to be heard somewhere down the line. Otherwise, what? Leave them in a vault for all time and never give them a chance to be enjoyed? It’s not disrespectful to want this new music to be shared with the people who love MJ the most, his FANS. It is not about the money. Well, maybe it is to the music execs…but to his fans it’s all about the music. R=

  • angela

    I dont agree with
I know if Michael Jackson is unable to be here on earth, he would want his people to release his music to his fans & keep his legacy alive. As fans of him we know this is not the final cut because the King of Pop wasn’t here to put his final say.
    So release his album PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Mj,best entertainer that lived

    Of course NOT!
It’s the last thing we have of MJ and I would love to hear every note he made/wrote. A true fan will want that! And MJ knows that, that’s because he kept everything he made for his fans and family.

    Love MJ forever!

I know if it’s MJ , I will buy it which is what Sony and the powers that be are depending on. I can only hope they do an appropriate job of picking songs that Michael would have wanted out there. The fans will always want more, but when is it enough? I don’t know.
