OlderZac Efron: Stand Up 2 Cancer PSA!
More than a dozen of Hollywood’s young stars have joined together for a new PSA called “Change The Odds,” in support of Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C), an initiative raising funds for cancer research.
Cast includes: Zac Efron, his girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens, the new Spider-Man Andrew Garfield, Dakota Fanning, Logan Lerman, Kristen Bell, Jon Heder, Aubrey Plaza, Zachary Levi, Sofia Vassilieva, Clark Duke, The Daily Show‘s Olivia Munn, Glee‘s Naya Rivera, Donald Faison, Aaron Yoo and William Moseley.
The PSA was co-directed by Marc Webb ((500) Days of Summer, Untitled Spider Man Reboot) and Rich Lee. It will e featured on the upcoming SU2C broadcast event on September 10th!

I am happy that Zac and Vanessa involve themselves in worthy causes like this one. I remember they were also a part of the Haiti Fundraising activity. Since they are popular celebrities, they are ideal to create awareness and influence others to be involved on charities and other good causes.

think everyone has or will be touched by the loss of someone from this horrific disease. So anything to bring awareness to the numbers is awesome. Since I love Zac and Vanessa I especially loved seeing them. Vanessa was beautiful and cute bowling and Zac LOL his face was priceless. Everyone was great in it.

Point being, Charlie St. Cloud is not High School Musical 3, Hairspray, or even 17 Again. It is a dark drama about grieving and loss, and it had absolutely nothing going for it other than Zac Efron’s name and face on the poster. Opening a well-marketed and appealing mainstream comedy like 17 Again to $23 million is impressive. Opening a poorly-marketed and not-terribly appealing drama like Charlie St. Cloud to $12.5 million all by yourself: You, Zac Efron, are a genuine movie star.

You are either full of it or you are being duped yourself. Just within the promos for CSC Zac said in one of his interviews how he does NOT have a twitter or facebook or any of those things and IF anyone says they are Zac Efron, etc, then they are a poser and not to follow that person—that all coming within the past 3 weeks. SO, I don’t think he decided to start one now. And given just how much he has said this in LIVE interview—the last one being a live interview, btw, I’d say IF he did change his mind and decide to have one of those things he would make it known more officially and not keep denying it.
Without a doubt, Zac Efron is a fantastic actor. He doesn’t over dramatize his crying, and because of that, every scene (and there’s about four) that he cries, it looks genuine and heartfelt. I just recently saw (again) The Karate Kid II and when Pat Morita (as Mr. Miyagi) cries, his eyes slowly turn red and his bottom lip trembles as he’s being talked to. Some people might dislike that movie and not think it as good as the first, but that scene is very powerful, and it shows how to display emotion correctly. Reserved without giving it all you got. It could also be because he reminds me so much of my dad, but that scene really made me feel sad. Efron had the same effect. He had a moment at the bar talking to a girl, and it was supposed to be uncomfortable when he said something, and it was. It was very uncomfortable. He then pulls it together and makes a great stance against an idiot who mocks him. He’s so good, so very good. He turned down roles because he didn’t want to be the singing dancing kid for the rest of his career. He’s very remarkable and took this role because he loved the script and the relationship between the brothers.
