Joe Manganiello: I Growled in A Casting Director's Face!

True Blood‘s Joe Manganiello snacks on pizza in a new piece for Interview magazine.

Here’s what the 33-year-old actor had to share:

On his audition for True Blood: “My first audition was for a different werewolf role–it was me, ten inches away from the casting director, growling in her face. It felt great. They called me back in and said they wanted me to read again, but this time for the part of Alcide. Since I was a fan of the series and had already read all the books, I knew this was a bigger role, and was totally overwhelmed when I got it.”

On how he would teach Werewolf Acting 101: “I mean, I feel like I’ve been pretending I was a werewolf since I was a little kid. But it takes work. It’s about dialect work… I’m not going to lie–it’s about going to the gym. It’s a lot about letting it all go, remembering when you were a crazy primal kid running around and screaming. I wouldn’t tell anyone to study werewolves–I studied wolves, how they moved, their tendencies and sensibilities.”

# 5

gorgeous though!

Just watched him in Spiderman the other day. Man he played a great douche! lol So glad to see him in a role playing a guy with a heart :)

And glad to see he’s from just outside of the Burgh. That’s where I went to school and loved it. Great city with LOTS of diversity. To eat at Bob’s in McKee’s is a blast!

Wonder how often he goes home? And catches a Steelers game at Heinz…?

He is the reason why I watch TB 3!

@Yeah and Faith:
Add me to that list. The man is too gorgeous.

I really wish Alan Ball would turn things around and give Alcide and Sookie a love-story arc that’s really real. He’s trailed off from the book anyway already in so many aspects… Why not this one too? :D
I ain’t liking Bill and Eric anymore right now…

I agree.. he really is a nice package of hotness. I am so glad he will be in Season 4… I love him in True Blood

He only got the role of Alcide because he fit the physical description. He can’t act.

Joe is hot as *ell, and by all accounts a really ncie guy. The only reason I’m still watching TB is for him, the King and Franklin. The original cast = snooze.

I saw him on One Tree Hill, without the abs, this man is nothing to write home about. Next!!!

Have you seen this Joe Manganiello video interview? SO HOT!
