OlderGabourey Sidibe: The Big C Screening!
Gabourey Sidibe attends a special screening of the new Showtime series The Big C at the private home of designer Donna Karan on Saturday (August 7) in East Hampton, New York.
The 26-year-old actress joined the cast of The Big C at the event sponsored by The Cinema Society — Reid Scott, producer David Nevins, Phyllis Somerville, Laura Linney, Gabriel Basso, Oliver Platt and Showtime CEO Matt Blank.
The Big C is about a suburban mom (Linney), diagnosed with cancer, trying to find the humor in the disease. The series premiere, which features Gabourey, airs on Monday (August 16) @ 10:30PM ET/PT on Showtime!

She really needs to lose weight. It’s not good for your health to be that size.
I’m sorry but when someone is this big all I can think about is their weight. I can’t really focus on anything else. I mean, look at her legs!

I really think this girl is a good actress, and she seems like a nice girl…but honestly she needs to LOSE weight…this is horrible, and cannot be healthy!! She needs to get help!!

This young woman really needs to loose some weight. Normally I am the last person to judge anyone on appearance, I think its cruel and unfair. We have a responsibility to our own bodies, and people have to decide how they want to live. Its not our right to decide for them. However, she really is a big, big girl. Maybe she “feels” ok now, but believe me it is only a matter of time before health problems arise. I hear she did a great job in Precious. She should be celebrated for that of course, but its a sad fact her roles will be limited if she doesnt shed some weight. And I am really sorry but those colors are not flattering on her whatsoever.
I heard she just got cast in the Moby **** remake. She’ll play the whale.

The first to go will be her legs. It really stresses the blood vessels and veins to have to hold up that much weight. The knees get arthritis also which will end up as a knee replacement, a painful operation to recover from.

I agree that she is facing a lot of health problems if she doesn’t lose weight. It’s not a qustion of being stick thin but Gabourey is a very talented actress and if she wants to succeed in her chosen profession, then she needs to stay healthy. Obesity is not healthy for anyone.

Too young for this weight. Hope Hollywood isn’t telling it is ok to be like this and that she listens to some medical advice and start working on living longer. This weight is not good for anyone at any age, certainly not hers. But sometimes, Hollywood starts playing with a young starlet’s head and make her think everything she does is ok. Gabby: don’t listen to the enablers. You can do it! Losing weight will be awesome for you and your life!
