Daniel Radcliffe Covers EW's Fall Movie Preview Issue

Daniel Radcliffe Covers EW's Fall Movie Preview Issue

Daniel Radcliffe (as Harry Potter) graces the cover of Entertainment Weekly‘s newest issue, on newsstands Friday (August 13).

The 21-year-old actor and his Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows co-stars dished on the end of the franchise to EW. Check it:

Rupert Grint, on giving up his role as Ron: “I’m ready to kind of move on now, I think. This film is a great way to finish the whole era, and it’s going to be sad, because obviously all my friends are here, but 10 years is enough.”

Daniel Radcliffe, on the end of the franchise: “This film has been hard to make, and I’ve had some of the most trying moments, both physically and mentally, than ever before. I wasn’t entirely thrilled with my performance in Half-Blood – I found it quite same-y, and didn’t think there was enough variation in it – so I’ve worked hard to make sure that if the seventh film comes out and I’m still unhappy with it, I’ll know it won’t be from lack of trying. We’ve got a long way to go, but to be honest, I don’t mind. I love being here. There is no place else I’d rather be.”

Emma Watson, on filming the movie’s final scene: “It was bizarre. Walking onto set that day, there was this incredibly thick atmosphere. It felt like a moment in history. It felt really big.”

Dan has lost his protective shell that kept him under control and safe. Now he is exposed to the marketplace and to his own impulses. He isn’t always good (December Boys was a big flop) and he appears to be developing into a binge drinker. Will he go off the rails now that he doesn’t have to be “good” anymore? Time will tell. Keep posted.

    EW is right.

Can’t wait to watch the films!

Once the HP franchise is over, these kids will disappear, which is good. I’m tired of seeing their faces all over the place. Same goes for Twilight, I can’t wait for it to be over and never hearing again from them.

    Harry Potter > Twilight

i am so sad cause hp is ending :-(

@laverdadduele: Haha, that was funny. Urrr, I gave you a thumb up but not for what you said about HP but the Twilight part lol. I can’t wait for the Twilight saga to be over, that’s total bull$hit. However, Harry Potter was great. Really excellent. I’m the same age as Emma Watson so I kind of went through my teenager years with this series of amazing movies and I think they were worth it. These actors (Watson, Radcliffe and Grint) are indeed talented, I would give them a chance to prove their acting skills. But it will obviously be tough for them to survive in Hollywood since you know….it’s always like that, you appear in a big film and then there are other new hit films and new hotties and you disappear as fast as you appeared. I hope they’ll make other good movies afterwards but anyway they’ll always be Harry, Hermione and Ron from the HP films. =( I’ll miss the magic of it!<3

  • yeah

The HP movies were excellent, sad to see it go away. I always thought the acting in the movies was very good, hopefully they’ll find other good projects. If not, all the money they made from the HP movies will get them by.

i love hp series.all actors like alan rickman, helena bonham carter, gary oldman, daniel radcliffe, tom felton, maggie smith are very good in hp series.
i cant wait daniel radcliffe, helena bonham carter and alan rickman’ new movies.i love them.

What are you talking about? Their faces are never all over that place. WB barely advertises HP as much as Summit does for Twilight.

The only time we see the HP kids on anything is when the movies come out, and theres a long period of time before each film so it doesn’t happen that often.

I can’t wait to see these last two movies! I love this series so much. I’ve grown up with it and I still adore it as much as I did ten years ago. These three young actors are so talented and are such AMAZING people. I will always support in their future careers which I know will be just as brilliant as they are now. HARRY POTTER forever!!!

  • emily

I cannot wait for these movies! But at the same time, I’m going to be so upset that the Harry Potter franchise has come to a close.

  • Gabby

That cover is AWESOME!! I seriously am dying to see these freakin’ movies! I’m about to start re-reading the series to prepare, but all the trailers and pictures are making it IMPOSSIBLE to wait!!! Daniel, Emma, and Rupert are all SO unbelievably awesome. I’m still amazed that they’ve all stayed so grounded over the years. I’m in love with these three and really appreciate the astounding job they’ve done bringing this wonderful series to life! :D

Actually…I don’t think it’s going to be tough for them at all. All three of them have done a great job proving their talent outside of Potter. Emma’s really involved with the fashion world and with her education. Rupert recently finished 2 non-Potter films and is about to start another one. And he’s caught the attention of Martin Scorsese. Daniel has a Broadway play (How to Succeed in….) and 3 movies (Journey is the Destination, The Woman in Black, and All Quiet on the Western Front) all lined up when the Potter films end. These three aren’t going anywhere.

I think Dan has a lot to worry about because he really SUCKS at acting. Emma is even worse. The only one of them who can act is Rupert. He’s already had more work outside of HP than the other two combined. Emma should just be a model and Daniel should just go away.

  • Carol

I kind of agree with katy, out of all the kids in HP Rupert and Tom are the best of the whole bunch
