OlderJohn Mayer Slams Huffington Post
John Mayer gets into a cyberscuffle with the Huffington Post after the online newspaper published a story with the title, “John Mayer & Jennifer Aniston BACK TOGETHER?”
The 32-year-old musician fired back at the HuffPo on his blog saying, “Huffington Post, this is reporting? How do you pay your writers now, in Silly Bandz? Do you meet your sources in a malt shoppe? This is equal parts fabricated, cobbled together and misleading.”
This was in response to the original article which stated, “Are John Mayer and Jennifer Aniston back on? Mayer seemed to indicate they might be when he spoke in front of a crowd of 18,000 at his concert on Sunday at the Hollywood Bowl in LA. “I believe in second chances!” he said. “You might have been a pain in the ass the last time around, but you can still start over again from home base. Next time you get a text from the one you love just text back ‘come over’ – no matter what happened in the past. If you really love someone, just tell them and be with them.”
Mayer‘s biggest problem was the piece stemmed from the fact it was posted on the HuffPo, a media outlet with a generally solid reputation. He explained, “Those other rags know who they are, and even if they’re obnoxious, I’d rather have to live with them because they (and the rest of the world) know where they stand, which doesn’t make them one tenth as dangerous as you are.”
The HuffPo coyly responded, “He does not deny that he and Aniston are dating.”
Aniston and Mayer last dated in March of 2009.

Finally someone brings it up that Huffington Post articles are opinionated and not based on facts. I’m always surprised when celebrities use Huffongton Post to publish their messages a la Bono and Ryan Reynolds

HuffPo may be dangerous if they had written something that can really damage the reputation of a celebrity. But the thing is, it is just an opinion and he can deny it or confirm it, there is no need to utter those words. Hey John, you are a celebrity, that comes being popular.

Mr. Mayer is correct. By Re-Posting gossip from a tabloid but not siting the source, it appears as though Huff is reporting what they are instead “pasting”.
Huff need to decide if it ‘s a Xerox copy of numerous tabloids or irresponsible gossip rag or a reputable news source.

Mayer is a good artist, but a bit of a narcissist. He’s very much in love and impressed with himself. He thinks he’s cerebral, but lacks common sense at times.

On the personal side, if Aniston goes back to him, all of Hollywood and her few remaining fans will think she needs an intervention. Anyone really thinks that Mayer cares about HP’s reputation as a serious media outlet? It’s laughable that he calls them ‘dangerous’ for this silly article.

Mayer has been left alone by the media for the most part since ditching the barnacle on Brangelina’s asss – and it’s probably so easy for him to get the middle aged wretch to come crawling, and to not have to make promises and to yank her chain and influence her (she’s incredibly dumb)….while at the same time, he gets the added bonus (what is TRULY important to him) media saturation and publicity when he is with her.

I personally think Mayer can’t go back to NOT being on mag covers, not having TMZ drop everything to get him to ‘play,’ and to NOT being on everyone’s lips. As the one who keeps d*cking Aniston around, who is also her ‘great white boytoy hope,’ for a lot of her middle aged fans – he is the center of the universe.
