Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor‘s film, I Love You Philip Morris, has a release date!
The film, about a married con man who falls for his male cellmate, was a hit at Sundance in 2009 and was slated for release in March of this year.
Now Ewan and Jim will hit the big screen on December 3, according to Deadline.
FYI: Ewan and Jim shared a smooch in Paris back in February as they made the rounds to discuss the film!

This is very strange indeed. I thought I saw the DVD being sold somewhere. Why was this delayed for so long (in the US)?
A late opening for the US theaters but has been selling DVD movies in other countries. Well maybe it is a strategy of the producer to debut late in America. Anyway, that is a Jim Carrey movie hence expect a good laugh.

I saw it a few months ago. Funny/good movie. Weird that this movie is actually based on a true story.
It was a long time ago in my country too – and it was told that it wasn’t released in Amerca due to the gay content and kissing of men.
What a ridiculous story of bigotry and stupidity… If you look for it on google you’ll find plenty of infos about the unbelievable rollercoaster the film had to go through in the US.
The movie has been released in theaters, and now in dvds everywhere in Europe and received rave reviews. I LOVED it, the acting was fantastic and I laughed so much, yet it was so much more than just gay clichés, it was clever and well written.
The whole drama about the release date in the US is all because of the gay sex and pretty straightforward allusions to gay sex as well, like this one scene at the beginning where Jim Carrey has sex with a man and it’s not just suggested. So what? Gratuitous naked women, ultra violence with a high rating, and so many more get a release dates but a couple of gay men with famous actors to play them is just too much? Morons…
Go and see the movie, it’s brilliant :)

Ewans movies arent as good as they used to be. I used to love them but I suppose hes oldeer now and takes a different approach to it. Id prefer him to play a gay role next Jonathan Rhys Meyers and CHristian Bale. Hes more suited to them than Jim Carrey.
