OlderWhoopi Goldberg Leaves 'Sister Act' to Care for Ailing Mom
Whoopi Goldberg has headed home to the United States early after her mother, Emma, suffered a stroke.
The 54-year-old actress was in London performing as Mother Superior in a West End production of Sister Act but left with her cast and crew’s blessing.
“The thoughts and sincere best wishes of the producers and the entire Sister Act company are with her at this difficult time,” the show’s producers said in a statement (via LA Times).
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Whoopi and her family.
