OlderPaula Patton: 'Mission: Impossible 4' Female Lead!
Paula Patton has joined the cast of the highly-anticipated fourth installment of the Mission: Impossible series!
The 34-year-old actress, who was most recently seen in Just Wright, beat out Kristin Kreuk and Lauren German for the coveted role, according to Deadline.
Paula will play a young operative alongside Tom Cruise‘s Ethan Hunt. The film will also reportedly not be called Mission: Impossible 4, in hopes to make this film a reboot of the series.
It was recently announced that The Hurt Locker‘s Jeremy Renner will also star in the film and will hopefully carry the series once Tom leaves.
We loved Paula in Precious and can’t wait to see her in a totally different role!

I agree. Her head is not shaped like a human being…but then again…Tom is all into that xenu alien crap so maybe it is a good match.

Kreuk was my choice. But, this pick isn’t surprising. She has a “bigger” resume and has more Hollywood connections. Even though it will make more money outside of the US than inside, if they wanted to make even more money outside of the US, they should have went with Kristin.

You are right about the box office. Tom has driven away U.S. fans, but the movie will end up making money because SA and Europe have not figured out how crazy Tom is. BUT: The reality for the movie studios is that $200 million combined domestic and foreign box office is NOT a blockbuster when you have a “name” like Tom Cruise.
He’s history. They are not going to give him prime scripts that could earn $$ millions more with another name attached.
It would be good if they include Henry Czerny, Thandie Newton, Anthony Hopkins, John Polson, Michelle Monaghan, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Maggie Q and Laurence Fishburne and hopefully conclude the series.
I hope that the main villain’s name will be Vanning which was originally going to be the name of the main villain in M:i:III before they changed it to Owen Davian.
They have to bring back Michelle Monaghan but I’m not sure if they are going to bring back Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Laurence Fishburne and Maggie Q.
I hope that Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts appear in M:i:IV as I’ve always wanted to see Tom Cruise do a movie with each of them.

Horrible picture of Paula, but she is pretty. But, how does Paula Patton fit the profile of “young” operative? I’m not sure what her character is, but if it requires some athletic or fighting skills or what have you, I don’t know how she fits this character from her past work.

I have to agree that she is one of the most gorgeous women out there. This is a pic of her when she was pregnant and looked a little swollen. Havent seen her post baby but I knew before then she was pure perfection.
I like this girl. She is pretty. actually, I don’t recall ever seeing her before. I didn’t see Precious (sounded to depressing).
I like her too but this has got to be the ugliest picture I’ve seen of her. It looks like a picture you would see in a tabloid. You know how they manage to find the ugliest pictures os someone and put them in their “magazines”.

Tom is no spring chicken and would look odd next to a woman that looked too young (like Kreuk), esp if romance is involved.
Plus with Tom’s career flagging Patton brings a bit of kudos having starred in the biggie Precious. A movie I have yet to see but have heard far too much about.
tbh I don’t hold out much hope for this movie being a success. The anti-cruisers are a formiddable bunch.
I wanted Thandie Newton to reprise her role in Mission Impossible. She was incredible in MI 2. But I also like Paula.
