Zac Efron gives his best brooding stare on the latest September/October 2010 cover of UK’s Wonderland Magazine.
The 22-year-old actor is set to star and produce the thriller Art of the Steal, which is based on Joshuah Bearman‘s Wired magazine article.
Pic centers on a con man who plans and executes a series of elaborate heists, all while leading a double life as an upstanding citizen.

@ivanka: James Dean was badas.s & fcuking gorgeous. Zefron looks like a woman. He’s not hot. His skin always looks chimney fake-tanned, his hair’s constantly greasy, his lips are too thin and pouty in a curled up annoying way. Ew he does nothing for me.
I know most people still believe Zac is closeted, but I’ve never gotten that vibe from him lol. I just think he’s metro….and he’s a bit of a nerd turned heartthrob which is why he sometimes tries a little too hard to appear like a ladies’ man making people think he’s trying too hard to ‘appear straight’…..there are a LOT of closeted actors but I don’t think Zaquisha’s one of them…jmo ;)

That is a very nice picture of Zac. And the brooding look does resemble James Dean, except Zac is much more handsome.
The problem with James Dean, he was an alcoholic and chain smoker and it showed on his skin. His eyes were always puffy and his skin was aged. He looked far older than 24. His hedonistic lifestyle really took a toll on his appearance.

It’s funny how I just watch Rebel Without a Cause this afternoon. And while I was watching James Dean I was struck by how today was the first time I noticed how young he looked—but of course he WAS. All the times I’ve seen the movie Dean’s broodiness just made him look older. But today I was less involved with the movie and charater so I was just looking at times at the actor doing this role and he is so obviously YOUNG. I think the characters he played in his few big movies made him seem older even though in Rebel and East of Eden he was suppose to be a teen.
I think Zac is extremely handsome in this picture but I don’t think he really looks too brooding. He looks “serious” but too serene to be brooding. Actually he would look more brooding if someone would take one of the candid pictures a pap takes and use it for “brooding”. The thread just before this one of him and Vanessa at the airport and he is wearing his sunglasses is where he looks more “brooding”. I’ve seen other photoshoots where he has much more brooding pictures than this one. To me, brooding looks like the subject could do something dangerous or unexpected. In this photo I don’t see him doing either of those things. He just looks “reflective” and lost in thought.

He is young and is secure and confient in his looks and acting..if he looks vunerable and sensitive in his pics…he is…He’s a very beautiful guy that will have to patiently grow into a tough guy…Leo’s done it, Rob Lowe has done it and even beauty Brad Pitt have changed into their hotness since growing up as beautiful boys.

Am so looking forward to this movie, will be showing off his physical prowess, I bet. I thought it was called Snaba Cash or something like that? In that mag, it also showed him and V on their Hawaiian Hols. They got top marks for being the most together couple.

Malia, you’re so right….In my humble opinion, I think photogs are afraid to capture true Zac…remember those pics from a long time ago when he was brooding in a black t shirt and jeans? His hair was a little wet…I think with his hair a little longer :e looks tough and a bit rough around the edges, more masculine believe it or not.

It seems that the films that he is going to make from now on will all be about hm getting the girl, taking his clothes off, and trying and I add TRYING to be taken as a serious actor, please that day will never come. He’s only interested in gettin the female audience to see his films.
CSC did’nt do well at all and Idoubt this film will either, and specially ‘ The Lucky One’ again about him getting the girl and living happily ever after. how’s that supposed to get the audience to take him as a serious actor and leading man, it’s not.
It would’nt hurt him t be a supporting actor in a movie not every movie a actor does has to have him as the main part, and sometimes the smaller roles gives them a chance to show what a good actor they can be. All Zac and his team are interested in is shoving his face into everyone else’s regardless of how good a movie script is or not, and CSC proved that it takes more than that to mak a movie good.

My last comment was really tongue in cheek because I don’t see much in the way of gay “bashing” in these posts. I think that society is generally accepting of alternative lifestyles, but what we have little patience for are people who manipulate us for fame and the almighty dollar. (cough cough…Tom Cruise)
Just admit who you are and life will go on. I lived through the 80s when I had friends who were gay but it was not openly discussed (like trying to discreetly get my dad to understand why Russ was not my boyfriend). In the mid 80s and 90s we had to openly discuss lifestyles because of AIDS and HIV, but a lot of it was fear or gossip driven and not progressive or positive. Not that we don’t have far to go, but we have definitely come galaxies from where we were.
That being said: Come on Zac…we’re waiting for you.

Zac is attached to a lot of movie projects, the Art of Steal being a newest one. I have read the wired magazine article of this con man, and it reminded me of Leo’s movie, Catch me If you can. It should be an interesting story given that the writer who came on board is a young and talented one.
And Zac is in LA as he was spotted in the gym – its in JJJ thread.
Forbes havejust release their list of the Top 10 Best Value Actors in Hollywood and he did’nt even make the top 5 that tells you something.
Perhaps he should concentrate on doing good roles in films that prove he can act and not just pus hispretty boy face image to everyone, that only last so long in Hollywood before the nextr pretty boy comes along and your forgotten. And maybe all his comments of late instead of getting him a wider fan base, has had te opposite effect and lost him fan base, would’nt b suprising he’s trying to come across as one of the guys with his comments and beef himself up, and all he’s done is show himself to be inconsiderate to other people’s feelings, way to go Zac
@BOJI: The thing is he can’t pull off the meatier roles yet being offered the big money does’nt always make for a good movie. There’s nothing wrong in doing supporting roles, being in the public eye constantly can be a drawback and he has been in that position for years becuase of HSM and he is only gonna be 23 soon, so what if he is’nt the headliner for afew movies, would that be such a bad thing. Learning a craft is but he and his PR people are to much into his looks to get him by with movies.
I guess though money talks and he and his PR people will pandert to Hollywood and do whatever they are told to do.

I hope he cleaned his ears this time. Why anyone would want to see this guy in a movie is beyond me.
It seems to me that some people just get angry because he is offered roles where he is the lead and not a supporting actor which means movie makers think he has what it takes. They are willing to let him open a movie and this just gets into some people’s crawl. Also, they get mad when he and his “team” have the clout to develop a movie and have a studio like WB behind them. It is simply sour grapes on these person’s part that want to gripe. And if all this helps Zac become a great success will these people come back and say they were wrong in being so tough on Zac and being so nit-picky? Not by any stretch of the imagination. They just so despise the fact he is being noticed by so many in a positive way—even if his latest movie is not breaking box office numbers—that it is eating them alive. SO they have to come back and say something demeaning about him. They will continue to do so—or at least until they find someone else new to go after.

Some people come on this board just to get some kind of “revenge”. Usually it is due to be found out. It’s amazing how there is ONE person who claims to be in the business so she “knows” things, then she is related closely to someone who works in the business—but she tells some that relative has one kind of position in Hollywood and tells others that person is something else. Then depending on what username she uses she is a teacher. On one site she proclaims to be a big Zac fan, on one site under another name she proclaims to be a great Vanessa fan. Then on some sites she is originally from somewhere like NY and other sites she is from Hollywood when in actuality she is from somewhere like Florida. Anyway these “people” she is portraying is all ONE person. She comes on here and attacks some of us who KNOWS who she is and the many names she uses. But how stupid is this person? She just keeps adding even more names to her roster and somehow thinks NBODY is the wiser. Many people may not be but more and more people who have been around for some time DO know the truth and just how disturbed this person is. IP addresses can be tracked and so the internet is not entirely anonymous.
