I’ve only seen her in An Education, but I feel in love!

  • Brightside

Hardly surprising that she should go from indie darling to Hollywood’s hottest face…she’s such a talented actress and her face is truly beautiful. She has that rare elfin beauty that still looks so untouched and I like it that she hasn’t felt the need to pluck her eyebrows out of non existence. Such an ugly look! She’s kept her’s natural.

  • Nic

Yes, a true talent, and actually humble poised and sweet. So happy she scored such a huge cover. She looks stunning on it.

  • SpinWheel

    Cary is so pretty .

  • Catchy

i thought its michelle williams ahahahahaha

  • Sammy

Carey’s an excellent actress, but isn’t great at posing. I find that she always looks slightly uncomfortable in shoots for magazines, which is wholly understandable considering how quickly she rose to fame.

  • Butter_Fly

I think it’s a pretty cover! She looks great!

  • Weber from Brazil

    she’s ONLY 25?? looks more
I think it’s because of ur short hair, and mature roles in movies….
but I really appreciate her talent…

  • ashley

ah she looks uh-mazing in this photoshoot…..and as large that hat looks in real life I still want to own it.

  • Catchy

same face on every photo… through the whole life.. ehh…
how can she be a good actress then?))

  • nora

OMg she’s so pretty&so sweet!!! I’ve read reviews of “Never let me go” and they all say how exceptional she is!! I can’t wait to see her in it she’s wonderful!!

  • http://j ivanka

so plain, can’t see anything hot in her

  • nylon-addict

She is just so unbelievably cute and so very talented,i just love her!

  • M

I cannot believe this is not Michelle Williams! they are drop dead ALIKE
    the bw pic is gorgeous!

  • Elise

Love her. She’s so cute. I’m hearing awesome things about Her in Never let me Go. I love talented actresses rising to the top!

  • lexy hates bilson

She looks nice. Always refreshing to see talented ACTRESSES on JJ.

  • fauxfashion

She is plain and boring. I saw An Education and do not get the hype. The movie was average and so was Carey’s acting. American Vogue sales are down almost 20%. Another cover with a boring starlet isn’t going to help them. Nothing creative about this shoot at all. Wintour has really failed to capture modern fashion and readers have moved on. I put Carey in the same category as Amanda Seyfried and that is sweetly boring. Neither of them are exciting.

  • Melinda

She’s a great actress and adorable.

  • Jules

    She looks gorgeous.

  • lexy hates bilson

@ faux fashion – well who do you consider a good actress? Paris Hilton? JJ fave Rachel Bilson?? Jessica Simpleton?? That’s the problem with truly talented actors – you can’t tell they’re acting.

  • Ale

@Catchy: She’s a good actress, not a good poser. Which brings us to a kind of metaphor…she’s not a poser!! =P I realized that after I wrote it…

  • mailey

    i luv all the dresses.

  • NORA

She’s a great actress and She looks gorgeous

love her and I can’t wait for “Never let me go” >

  • me me me

she’s the only young actress i really like these days. and oh, she’s quite pretty :)

Calling Carey a great actress is an over statement that title should be reserved for Katherine Hepburn, Patricia Neal, Sophia Loren & Joanne Woodward amongst others. granted these four women are from a different era totally and none of them were ever on the cover of Fashion Magazines but more likely magazines like Life Modern Screen and later people and an occassional tabloid not by their own doing. Ms Mulligan will always be a nominee and never a major award winner like the four actresses mentioned above who among them have 20 best actress oscar nominations and 7 wins correct Hepburn has 12 noms and 4 wins Woodward has 4 nominations and 1 win and both Neal & Loren have 2 nominations and 1 win and that’s between Hepburns first nom/win in 1934 and Woodward’s 4th nomination in 1991.

    correct the films are
    Morning Glory
    Alice Adams
    The Philadelphia Story
    Woman Of The Year
    The African Queen
    The Rainmaker
    The Three Faces Of Eve
    Suddenly Last Summer
    Two Women
    Long Day’s Journey Into Night
    Marriage Italian Style
    Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner
    The Lion In Winter
    Rachel Rachel
    The Subject Was Roses
    Summer Wishes Winter Dreams
    On Golden Pond
    & Mr & Mrs Bridge

of course one of those oscar wins and one of the nominations were considered Pitty Prizes as in the one Hepburn won for Guess who’s coming to dinner because her longtime lover Spencer Tracy had died right after production was over and the one for which Neal was nominated for The Subject was Roses because that was her first film after a series of debilating strokes she’d suffered three years earlier while she was pregnant with her youngest child Lucy. of course Ms Mulligan is an actress that cares more about her looks than she does about work

  • goop

She does not photograph well at all!

  • Lesley

She’s the prettier, more talented and less slutty version of Michelle Williams. Great cover picture.

  • Stating the Obvious

Gorgeous girl, gorgeous dresses, bizarre hat.

  • unknown

I’m disappointed in my dear friend Anna Wintour, they could’ve done much better with the “October Issue”. Grace, (you’ve done it again). With beautiful and classic elegance. With an exceptional cover-girl. Hope to see better with November and December.

  • Oh, My God

No one would be giving a rats a$$ her if she wasn’t give Shia LaBeouf penis kisses and taint lickings.
