Katie Holmes pairs her J. Mendel dress and DKNY tank on the October 2010 cover of Marie Claire, on stands Sept. 14. Here’s what the 31-year-old The Romantics actress opened up about:
On what it’s like being Mrs. Tom Cruise: “It’s really exciting. Tom’s as big at home as he is on the movie screen. He’s so passionate about everything, whatever he’s doing. When he’s being a dad, he’s right there;he’s giving it his all. It’s inspiring and it’s fun. It’s an amazing life, but we always remind ourselves of how incredibly lucky we are.”
On having more children: “Maybe in a couple of years, but right now I want to make sure I’m really there for Suri. I’m the youngest in my family-my closest sister is 5 years older than me, and the next one is nine years ahead of me, so I was a bit of an only child, and I liked it! I liked having all of my mom’s attention, and sometimes I think I still do.”
On what part of her upbringing she hopes to pass along to Suri: “We travel a lot, and so for me, it’s keeping a daily schedule for Suri that never changes. We wake up, and we do the same thing. She does her chores. I think it’s very important. If she doesn’t get her chores done, I notice she’s not really herself. She has to make her bed, she has to take her dishes to the sink, she has to put her clothes in the laundry — you know, that basic stuff. I try to do what my mom did for me … just spending time with her, making doll clothes and planting in the garden … When Suri comes to the set, we have art projects, and I just try to keep her busy and inspired.”

@Suritard: Just because she lives in a mansion doesn’t mean she can’t do simple things for herself, by ”CHORES” Katie means taking her plate to the sink, making her bed, putting her clothes in the laundry. The basic things 4 year olds should do. Children of rich celebrities usually don’t lift a finger, they have a whole team of staff (nanny, maids) who make their beds, wash their hands, take their plates to the sink, clean their asses. That is not the cast with Katie’s child.
She’s 4, she can’t have other people doing everything for her. The kind of lifestyle Katie is supporting is very healthy. I think she is doing a wonderful job raising her child.
What a poor excuse not to have more children. As if she hasn’t already waited over four years while Tom is reaching 50. It is really weird that they haven’t had more children and that even now she has little interest.

More children? These are all lies, as if people have no memories. Tommygirl once bragged about wishing to have 10 kids with Kaka, the tree trunk.
Tommy’s sterile, Kaka had a ready made fetus with her when she applied for the position as the front beard. They are not going to have any more children, unless Tommy renegotiate the terms.
This will have to be double expensive, for no sperm will come cheap this time.

Katie’s answers prove my impression that Suri is a spoilt brat!. She is raising her daughter to be self-centred and unaccomplished in interpersonal skills beyond mom and dad. SHE GOTTA HAVE A MORE MEANINGFUL REASON for not having more children! rather than for channelling excessive attention on a child who is over-protected that she is not even allowed to walk past 4 yrs old! Suri will grow up with the belief of entitlement, aded being born into money will be brutal to whoever she meets if she is ever allowed to mix with regular people.
Here is a gem …. Mr and Mrs. Crazy have a date night, screening a movie at home…then after the movie they have “probably a two-hour discussion about what we thought.”
What?! OMG! THAT has to be added to her huge and growing list of WTF’s? So this couple that supposedly has the “most amazing love evah!” sits and talks, for two hours, about what they thought???? Yah! Like that is NORMAL!! What a bunch of freaks.
