Former LFO Member Rich Cronin Dies at 35

Rich Cronin, a former member of the boy band LFO, passed away on Wednesday (September 8) after a lengthy battle with leukemia.

The 35-year-old singer, who wrote the band’s biggest hit, “Summer Girls,” scored a platinum single back in 1999.

Friends including former *NSYNC member Chris Kirkpatrick sent their condolences. “Rip to a great friend,” Chris wrote simply. Lance Bass also weighed in, calling Rich “an amazing guy”.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Rich‘s family during this difficult time.

I still know all of the words to Summer Girls and listen to it on a regular basis. Now learning all of the words to West Side Story, that was difficult.

Rest in peace Rich. Your life and your music brought a smile to lots of peoples faces, including mine.

Wow… 35 is just so young and too young to have to die this way.

I am very sorry to say I all but forgot LFO as the years went by and my music interests changed as I matured and got older, but Summer Girls will always have some nice calming memories in my heart.

Sort of like one song that fits a certain time in your life when you were younger and things were more simple.

Apparently he had been sick since around 2005 and was in remission and continued to battle the disease.
He started a charity it turns out after he fell ill with his name sake in it. Just though I would let people know that and put that out there. It’s what he would of wanted people to focus attention of the disease that took his life far too soon. Maybe one day not so far away…. deaths like this wont have to happen anymore from a disease like this anymore.

R.I.P Rich<3
