Nicki Minaj Covers 'Out' Magazine October 2010

Nicki Minaj shows off her curious world in the October 2010 issue of Out Magazine, on stands September 13.

The 25-year-old rapper will be performing during the pre-show for this Sunday’s 2010 MTV VMAs. “Obviously, this is something everybody dreamed of being part of, and I’m no exception to that rule,” she said. “I just feel like this is my coming-out party. This is major for an artist with no album out.” Can’t wait!

She is not 25 years old. Her DMV information that leaked on the
internet, says that she will be 28 this year.

# 2

Why is she popular? I guess with all of the atrocious male rappers out there, a female thought she might as well get a piece of the pie too.

# 3

SERIOUSLY!? HER AGAIN!?
Noooo! I just….. ugh! WHY?
I hate her voice.. Im sorry, but seriously she sounds so IRRITATING AND RUINS GOOD SONGS WITH HER VERSES. There I SAID IT!

# 4

Why does she always wear an obnoxious wig? what is she hiding under it?

# 5

I absolutely adore her. She is so talented — and FUN.

# 6

@Ultra: It’s part of her persona. Every interesting artist has an onstage persona that’s larger than life, right? The Barbie schtick is hers. I love her music.

# 7

Flawless.

# 9

that’s such a pretty cover

@Sadie: You can not be serious lol.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE her verses, her parts are what make the songs WORTH listening to. Eg. Drake. Phony doucenozzle but I sat through his entire video just to hear Niki’s part.

Anyway, I haven’t been this excited about a rapper let alone a female one in forever.

PINK FRIDAY @ 09/10/2010 at 6:57 pm

“When I grew up I saw females doing certain things, and I thought I had to do that exactly. The female rappers of my day spoke about sex a lot… and I thought that to have the success they got, I would have to represent the same thing. When in fact I didn’t have to represent the same thing.”

In addition to her funny voices and on-screen character she stated “I’m not abandoning the funny voices. … But it’s coming up more with the album. I had a teacher in elementary who would stand on her table and whisper. We’d all turn around like, ‘What is this lunatic doing?’ But she would achieve what she wanted. She wanted us to stop talking and listen. I feel like I need to mellow it down so people can hear what I have to say. “I made a conscious decision to try to tone down the ‘sexiness’, I want people—especially young girls—to know that in life, nothing is going to be based on sex appeal. At least, you’ve got to have something else to go with that.”

While growing up Nicki was surrounded by constant trouble and fighting between her parents. She lived in Trinidad with her grandmother until the age of 5 when she moved to the Queens, New York. Her father drank alcohol, took drugs, and once tried to kill her mother by setting the house on fire. To escape her real life problems she would create characters and live her life through them.

“To get away from all their fighting, I would imagine being a new person. “Cookie” was my first identity—that stayed with me for a while. I went on to “Harajuku Barbie”, then “Nicki Minaj”. Fantasy was my reality. I must have been such a f***ing annoying little girl.
For her debut album, Minaj created another alter-ego named “Roman Zolanski”

she’s hot but why’s she on Out mag ?

@Ben:She is Bi-curious but moreso, she’s a part of Gay Culture already even though she doesn’t even have an album out!

“During an interview in the May 2010 issue of Details, Minaj was asked if she felt hip-hop was becoming more gay friendly on her basis as a bi-curious woman. She responded,

“I think the world is getting more gay-friendly, so hip-hop is too. But it’s harder to imagine an openly gay male rapper being embraced. But I think we’ll see one in my lifetime. I hope we will.”

everyone trying to be gaga. she is so annoying. yeah, bi-curious to sell records. whatev. next.

@KellStar: Because she’s TALENTED! Seriously, have you actually heard her rapping? You may or may not dig her style, it’s all a matter of taste at the end of the day but she is super talented.

@ms bar jolie gaga:AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. THIS, THIS RIGHT HERE IS WHY I’VE GROWN TO HATE GAGA! Well her fanbase. DUMBAZZ PEOPLE LIKE YOU!

The other day I read a comment under Kylie Mingoue’s vid saying “She’s trying to be Gaga!” I wanted to throw up. Srsly, GAG ME WITH A FKN SPOON! Why are some people so DUMB?

Absolutely fkn CLUELESS. Comments like that are as embarrassing as saying, “Madonna is trying to be Lady Gaga” or as freaking reta*ded as saying, “Michael Jackson copied Chris Brown”

OMYLORD I CAN’T EVEN LOL

DO YOU EEJITS NOT REALIZE HOW STOOOOPID & IGNORANT YOU COME ACROSS?

OPEN YOUR EYES. Trends are EVERYWHERE. It is an artist’s JOB to expand on them & make it their own. People are so lame. When you say ridiculous things like so-and-so is trying to be so-and-so, can’t you hear yourselves?

If 2 girls had RED HAIR in 1 classroom, would you be saying one of them copied the other one? EVEN IF ONE PERSON DYED THEIR HAIR BEFORE THE OTHER, IT MAKES 0 DIFFERENCE. THEY BOTH WANTED THEIR HAIR RED IT’S NOT THAT DEEP.

As for the BICURIOUS thing, Nicki Minaj seems GENUINELY Bicurious. I know many girls say that to sell records (man’s world……smh) but she was asked about her sexuality before she had even said anything because there were rumors. Then every media outlet picked up on her answer. She never brought it up twice.

“I just embrace all people of all lifestyles and I don’t tell them they are bad people. And I say girls are beautiful and girls are sexy and they need to be told that, and if they don’t have anyone to tell them that and mean it, I’m gonna tell them that. But I feel like people always wanna define me and I don’t wanna be defined. DON’T LABEL ME.”

@NAYAH82: and can you give me a link to this INFO #STOP LYING…you heard this **** on mediatakeout where they make up a random false story about nicki everday

@Ultra: what black artist dont wear a wig ? stop talking **** about nicki becuse it beyonce every body wears wigs there just not as open abou it as minaj

@ms bar jolie gaga:

First off nicki aint trying to be no gaga and FYI nicki been saying she was bi sexual-bicurious since 07 when she was on the come up before ur precious gaga was even out so STFU …cyecye was not the first to be weird or the first to be bisexual so stop thinkin everbody trying to copy her

She stands out because of her Theatre background. :)

That already puts her in a different league to most rappers and Hip Hop artists.

It helps that she’s gorgeous and is not trying to be someone she’s not ;) Um don’t even bring up Lil Kim ‘cos Nicki considers her a major influence. And don’t get me started on Gaga, I love Gaga but I’m so tired of the ‘everyone is being/trying to be/copying gaga’ discussion, I can’t even be bothered to roll my eyes anymore. Gaga is a huge popstar there’s no denying that and is she is fantastic at what she does but to dismiss every single artist who is not generic and bland, and likes dressing up and costumes and has a colorful stage persona as ‘copying gaga’ is beyond absurd and ironic. Not just because Gaga borrows and has borrowed from SO many before her, but because the entire argument is just not logical at all.

Music is music, entertainment is entertainment. Enjoy what you enjoy and let others enjoy what they enjoy.

@ms bar jolie gaga: you find nicki minaj annoyin which is funny to me since half the world find gaga even more annoying

@ms bar jolie gaga: first off shes not try to be no gaga second off nicki been saying she was bisexual/bicurious since 07when she was on the come up before gaga was even out ..stop thinking everybody trying to be gaga

Pretty, pretty.

I love her, she’s so cute and hot. I wish she was only into women <3
