Lindsay Lohan: I Failed Drug Test

Lindsay Lohan has admitted she’s in the wrong!

“Regrettably, I did in fact fail my most recent drug test and if I am asked, I am prepared to appear before judge Fox next week as a result,” the 22-year-old actress wrote on her Twitter. “Substance abuse is a disease, which unfortunately doesn’t go away over night. I am working hard to overcome it and am taking positive steps forward every day. I am testing every single day and doing what I must do to prevent any mishaps in the future.”

Lindsay continued, “This was certainly a setback for me but I am taking responsibility for my actions and I’m prepared to face the consequences. I am so thankful for the support of my fans, loved ones and immediate family, who understand that i am trying hard, but also that I am a work in progress, just as anyone else. I am keeping my faith, and I am hopeful….Thank you all!!!”

Linds could face 30 days behind bars for each of the drug tests she falied.

We support you, Lindsay!!!

OH WOW that’s so weird… NEVER thought that would happen…

    so sad….
anyway new redhead in town Emma Stone, and she’s no Lindsay Lohan

  • elliott

must have been written for her, she takes responsibility.

  • bebe

Why in the world did they let her out of rehab so early?!?!

  • zzzz

This couldn’t have been written by Lindsey-it lacked all her usual misspells, typos, grammatical errors, etc. Just not her style at all.

  • Ganymede

Perhaps if she took quitting seriously? There’s no ‘bottom’ for her because she always has support. Sadly, it’s more enabling than anything else.

  • DarkEmpress

Dina Lohan was on Entertainment Tonight with Lindsay, sitting by when her daughter denied having a drug problem. She is a horrible parent. she tries to be her daughters friend and Lindsay needs someone mature and responsible she can lean on. What is Dina going to say now? Its all Michaels fault? Dina is such an enabler. She should go to jail with Lindsay. I think that when people have addictions instead of simply releasing them to be on their own, it should be like getting bail, where someone is responsible for you. Someone the court approves of. Hopefully a sponsor, like people get from aa.

  • Allie

@Kara: OMG I thought the same thing. And Emma Stone is smoking hot.

  • Bela

Lol! And ppl thought two weeks in jail and a few more weeks in rehab would help her.

  • Amanda Dubs

man, she needs help. and no one around her is helping her. and those who try to are pushed away by the people in charge of her. It sucks man.

  • frankjmaher

poor lindsay.. what an arrogant, spoiled, self-centered, moron. her stupidity is exceeded only by her lack of talent and her standing as one of hollywood’s biggest skanks… her and paris should do the world a favor and o.d. and rid the planet of 2 worthless parasites…

  • zzzz

Oh, dear. I’m sure Lindsey has just booked a special manicure for her court appearance.

  • what?

And now all of a sudden she has an addiction? She needs to be thrown in rehab for her own good. Her mom is one huge enabling fail.

  • Rockstar

Whether or not this was actually written by Lindsay doesn’t really matter. What is said in this message is true. Drug addiction is a disease. I have no respect for Lindsay Lohan – she’s tired, obnoxious, and has lost so much of her natural talent. But she’s also a victim, as much as it pains me to say it. Her youth was stunted, just as Britney Spears’ was. She’s a 12-year-old trapped in a 24-year-old’s body. The people who made money off of her are the ones at fault. The yes-men. They should be ashamed of themselves. Now, it is up to Linsday to turn her whole life around. Everything she’s ever known must change. That’s a tall order, no? I hope she wises up and finds some people that actually love and want to rehabilitate her. And I hope she realizes that she has to want to get better for all her efforts to work. Until then, c’mon Jared, these Lindsay stories are a bore.

  • Katy

JJ, I am one who does NOT support Lindsay. She is only sorry because she got CAUGHT. If she had really learned anything she would have never left rehad..

  • caroline24

Honestly, I don’t feel sorry for her. Jail + rehab and she failed a drug test with cocaine? She’s going to end up dead if she doesn’t kick out the bad influences in her life, spend more time in rehab or jail.

  • Ms Bar Jolie Gaga

Kudos for writing that Lindsay. It will help so many people. Good luck with getting well. It’s a tough road but you can do it. Drugs are a terrible things. You can beat it.

  • Cora

wow. what a waste of a life. i honestly have the sad feeling that there is no helping this girl…whats sad is that normally u would want a person like this to be surrounded only by family to help get better but her own mom is a retard who just does whatever her daughter says and wants to be cool. that is not a mother.

lindsay really has no one to turn to who is smart and who will help guide her, which is sad. unless she REALLY wants to change and she hits like ROCK BOTTOM then she can turn her life around, but she needs someone smart to step in and help her until she can change completely, just like britney. britney’s dad had to step in and take charge, but sadly, who will do that for lindsay?

    hopefully she learns something

  • Crittle

I thought she said she didn’t have a drug problem. If she’s serious, perhaps she should take the initiative and check herself into a rehab facility.

  • Cora

it just goes to show that ur parents really influence who u become. her dad had a serious drug problem and he passed that down to his daughter

  • tomorrow

She’s all talk. She says shes changed but she hasnt.

  • sally

    “Substance abuse is a disease’

its NOT a disease!! i hate when people say drugs and alcohol is a disease.
there just making an excuse to put the blame on somethings else and not their own self

  • Pippa

I support you Lilo. Chin up!

  • Leed

    >>but also that I am a work in progress, just as anyone else.

Bullshit. If you were a work in progress you’d be checked in into a rehab facility where qualified people would be helping you cure your ‘disease’ rather than going around riding the jet-set as usual

  • Brightside

You’re right, it’s not a disease. Cancer is a disease, drugs and alcohol are a life choice. You don’t choose to have cancer, but you do choose to be an addict. Addicts are simply cowards with no will power who use addictive substances as a crutch to get themselves through life. They are weak willed whereas many cancer sufferers and sufferers of other true diseases, by comparison, are very strong willed and courageous people.

  • bettie

Lilo you have failed us, you are out of chances

  • Jessica

    Sympathy plea on Twitter.
    How classy of her.
It’s really sad how far she’s fallen & I don’t see things EVER looking up for her.

  • Jamie

    @ Brightside
actually, addiction is a disease maybe not drug or alcohol addiction persay but being an addict is a disease

on another point its funny how kara mentioned emma stone is the new star red head, she is prettier, more talented and a hell of a lot funnier, she doesnt do kiddy movies like freaky friday or Herbie, she actually is a legitimate actress unlike lindsay. Mean girls was the only good movie lindsay was in, there i said what everyone was thinking. Another funny part is on chelsea lately the other night emma stone confessed she is a natural blond, no lie and she was serious, lol!

  • cherrie nessa 4 ever

    im lonely

  • Brightside

No it’s not a disease…it may have a genetic component but it shouldn’t be classed as a disease. It may simply be a genetic weakness in some people but it not like diabetes, cancer or heart disease. Just because you may have inherited a genetic disposition to addiction doesn’t mean you will become an addict. Your life style choices do that! To compare an addiction with a disease is wrong. People don’t choose to get a disease. People choose to take things that they know are physically and chemically addictive to everyone…ie coffee, nicotine, tea, alcohol, cocaine. Some of us have the ability to pursue these things in moderation, others don’t. Cancer doesn’t give you that kind of choice. No real disease does.

  • Lauren

Lindsay – “But mommy they cant put me in jail.Dont they know who i am, i was in a successful movie 6 1/2 years ago”

Dina – “I know Lindsay, we all deserve special treatment and everything we want haded to us for free. You dont even have a drug problem”

  • sarafina

@frankjmaher: Your comment is so accurate…… Spoiled White girl thinks she can fool everyone…

  • sifi90

it so sad cus she’s given many chances, such as early jail releases (repeatedly), early rehab releases, and probation whereas ‘common folks’ aka non-celebs would just be thrown in the slammer. She has the means and resources to get the best care in the country but you can’t get the proper care if you aren’t willing to admit you have a real problem, I’m definitely no Lohan fan but I do hope this is a turn around for her and she is really serious about getting well. Her life is probably full of so many enablers and ‘hanger-ons’ that she’s just going through the motions in life ( I can’t exactly speak for her seeing as I don’t know her or her life) but she’s admitting her that she messed up so hopefully this is a turning point for her.

I just wonder what her mother is going to say after years of repeatedly denying Lindsay has a problem (even as recently as the Today show), she can’t deny now, this admission came right from the horse’s mouth it’s self.

  • mailey

she has always been denying that she takes drugs. she always said she was just an alcoholic. not even that, she’d say she’s just a young person that likes to party sometimes.

maybe now she will face that she is an addict.

  • Sam

    Oh, please. Don’t be pathetic.

“Lindsay could face 30 days behind bars for each failed test”

If they actually let her serve full time w/o paying attention to her being a celebrity, she would learn her lesson.

  • kud7723

Sad, sad story. But I think it’s not over:

  • LiLo lalala

They keep arresting and locking up the wrong addict.

They need to lock up Dina, and throw away the key. She’s the attention addict that’s ruining Lilo’s life.

Better yet, make Dina’s cellmate Lilo’s dad. That would be fitting punishment for BOTH of them!

  • Jeff

To the idiots that say addiction isn’t a disease and instead is a choice, educate yourselves, and stop looking foolish. Addiction is a disease as much as cancer or ALS. It’s been certified as a disease by the AMA since 1967. It’s a genetic disorder. Get a clue!

  • alison

Today this and tomorrow… what will it happen????

  • SAT

She’s just having trouble seeing that she gets special treatment is all.

My Nephew was arrested for buying drugs and sentanced to 2 years with 18 months suspended. No problem, he also gets work release for the 6 months, but wait…after 1 week on release he tries to sneak some drugs back into jail. Ooops, that ends the work release, so he sits in jail for 6 months. Then gets out on probation, goes out and gets drunk on his birthday the night before his scheduled drug test, tests positive for alchohol and gets thrown back in jail for another 6 months.

And the moral of the story is: When your a hopeless loser, it doesnt matter if you have money, fame or are just an average Joe, your still just a loser.

  • Maggie

Oh come on, Lindsay didn’t write that. Look at the words, sentence structure, and phrasing. Last I checked, Lindsay Lohan was an illiterate moron. This is from her Lawyer.

  • nana

what else is knew ?????? shes such a waste !!!!

  • ewelllle

i dunno if some of yall were ever in rehab, i wasnt and i believe its not easy or pretty there. dont give up linds!

  • Nawh

I can’t believe Lindsay is only 22. There’s better looking 30 year olds out there. I wonder what her enabling mother is has to say now. Surprisingly, she’s silent.

  • jaye

Lohan finally HAD to admit she is a drug addict, she couldn’t continue to deny it when there is proof. I’m sure her representative has advised her on what to say, as she was deny the failed drug test earlier. She still doesn’t get it and it really shouldn’t have been expected. She is a drug addict and they have their own view of the world, including feeling victimized when they are they cause of their own problems.
The mandate was that she was go to jail for 30 days for EACH violation; according to TMZ she has had 2 failed drug tests. Hopefully she will get the full time because it is going to be needed to save her life. The hospital that released her early should be ashamed, they don’t know squat about drug addicts. To be on the safe side they should have just kept her the full 90 days.
As for drug addiction NOT being a disease, a medical dictionary describes a disease in this way:

Disease /dis·ease/ (dĭ-zēz´) any deviation from or interruption of the normal structure or function of any body part, organ, or system that is manifested by a characteristic set of symptoms and signs and whose etiology, pathology, and prognosis may be known or unknown
Not everyone who smokes, drinks alcohol or takes illegal drugs for that matter, become drug addicts. The definition of disease does not infer responsibility but is solely speaking of the EFFECT on the body; in that case drug addiction IS a disease. No doubt it is largely a preventable one, where as in SOME cases of Cancer, it is not within the effected pereson’s ability to prevent it. However, that doesn’t apply to all Cancer cases; a great many of them are preventable as well.
It might also be noted that some times drug addiction is a SYMPTOM of some other disease. Since we do not know Lindsay’s medical history, it would be hard to judge her case. Yes, she could have prevented becoming addicted by not taking drugs in the first place, but no one starts taking drugs or drinking alcohol for that matter, thinking they are going to become addicted. Most are under the illusion that it won’t happen to them; that they can handle it.
Lohan probably had the attitude of Robert Downey Jr. who said his friends were taking drugs and they seemed ok, so he thought he could do it without any problem. However, we all know he became HIGHTLY addicted to cocaine. Lindsay is an amateur compared to him. It took more than one jail sentence, a LOT of support from his friends and a decision that he wanted to be sober, to changed his life. That didn’t come in a day or a week or a year.
Downey said that the decision to stop taking drugs wasn’t hard, what was hard was making the decision that he WANTED to quit because he loved cocaine. He was not only an abuser of coke, but of meth and alcohol., however, he had something Lohan doesn’t have, a support system of friends who knew the extent of his addition and tried vigorously to help him, yet it still took a long time. Lohan has no support systems of friends and a mother who is an enabler.
I’m not trying to make excuses for Lohan, but there are some facts to consider. Her mother needs to care less about Lindsay’s career or public opinion and more about keeping her alive like Britney’s father. Maybe now, she will step into the role of being a real mom instead of a stage mom living vicariously through her daughter.
