Lucky for them cause the movie is not really the topper. Acting wise I liked it a lot but it’s def not the best they could have done. I haven’t seen the first one but hey this one the plot was pretty weak…but good publicity means good money, right ? xD

Finally the movie that the world has been waiting for. Global recession epic Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps is one of the year’s best films and deserved to be No. 1 at the box office. It is the most important movie of the year by far because it’s the only 2010 movie about the global recession. Margin Call (2011) which is also about the global recession will be a very important film as well. I was disappointed that unfortunately Donald Trump’s scene was cut, but this is still an intelligent, intellectual and relevant movie. Oscars for all involved.

I doubt Shia and Carey’s romance had anything to do with this movie getting to number one. Nobody knows who Carey Mulligan is.

    Lorraine Says:

This is not the last time we will see Michael Douglas in a film. He has another film coming out called Haywire directed by Steven Soderbergh which also stars Channing Tatum, Ewan McGregor, Michael Fassbender, Antonio Banderas and Bill Paxton.
I wish him a speedy convalescence and hope to see him in the other films that he is attached to including:
    Untitled Liberace Project
    Rollover
    Racing the Monsoon
We Have Always Lived in the Castle

Wow… times are changing.. 19 million is a hit..

I guess it only is the case for males in hollywood. Because when the women make that amount at the BO it is called a bomb..

    double standard..

    LadyB Says:

Karla, people go to the movies during the week too – Theatres are not closed Mon-Thurs. As for Wall Street 2, even though it is #1, still a disappointment. I mean, did you see the self praise and publicity Oliver, Shia were giving themselves? $19m, please. It means it might not even make $100m before it leaves the theatres.

    to KAZ/SLIG Says:

which is one stupid poster: just because you didn’t seem to recognize, Shia is sitting.

    LongLeggedLady Says:

I read that this is Stones biggest hit! I am really excited about seeing this movie cause it is a different role for Shia and I think that he was great in the Greatest Game. Plus I have read nothing but glowing reports of Shia and his Co-star Carey’s chemistry on screen. I guess that is the benifit of being in love while filming.
From the reviews that I read sounds like a good movie. :)
