Emma Stone is Mary Jane Watson?

Emma Stone will receive the the role of Mary Jane Watson in the reboot of the Spider-Man franchise.

According to Deadline, the 21-year-old redheaded beauty (Zombieland, Easy A) will play the love interest of Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) — if she accepts. And of course she should!

FYI: Spidey’s love interest was played by Kirsten Dunst in the previous three movies.

So far, contenders for the role of Gwen Stacy (portrayed by Bryce Dallas Howard in the previous movie) are Glee‘s Dianna Agron, Alice in Wonderland‘s Mia Wasikowska, Georgina Haig and Dominique McElligott. Gwen is the first love interest of the high school-aged Peter Parker.

that would be really great and if they get Mia as Gwen then its really going to be challenging and full of talented young actors.

I bet Gwen Stacy is going to get killed in a Spider-Man film. She seems to always get killed in the comics. I’d like to see Felicia Hardy/Black Cat in a film one day.

    Alaia Says:

Great cast…I just hope her role isn’t generic like most superhero girlfriends are. She deserves better.

This movie as critical and commercial flop written all over it.

    Amber Says:

did she get picked primarily because of her red hair? They should have picked Hilary Duff!

    Franck Says:

at least she is talented… but not that hot.

    caxposed Says:

Shoot… girlfriend BETTER accept if she knows what’s good for her. All joking aside, if she does accept, though I personally think she won’t be nearly as good as Kirsten was, she’ll be pretty good as the new MJ.

    Erik Says:

Why are they making this movie? I love Emma and hope she DOESN’T do it. Andrew Garfield is a terrible choice.

    N. Says:

Emma Stone is terrific but I’m not sure why they are already remaking Spiderman. The last one was TERRIBLE but it wasn’t that long ago really. They should wait a few more years before subjecting the world to more of that.

    Anne Says:

This girl is not beautiful. She looks weird.

    Rebecca Honey Says:

This franchise is hungry for greatness. This is the time to rebuild the franchise. They should utilise the villains that weren’t included in the previous films such as Beetle (Abner Jenkins), Carnage, Chameleon, Electro, Enforcers, Hammerhead, Hobgoblin, Hydro-Man, Jackal, Kingpin, Kraven the Hunter, Lizard, Morbius, Mysterio, Rhino, Scorpion, Shocker, Silvermane, Spot, Tinkerer, Tombstone, Vulture.
They should include the following love interests and leave Mary-Jane Watson out of the films for at least a while:
Liz Allan, Betty Brant, Gwen Stacy, Debra Whitman, April Maye, Michele Gonzales, Jean DeWolff, Jessica Drew, Lisa Skye, Marcy Kane, Angelica Jones, Felicia Hardy, Sarah Rushman, Carlie Cooper, Norah Winters.
This is a second chance to get it right. This is an opportunity.

    Rovena Says:

    How to make Spider-Man Begins

    6 different villains
    4 different love interests
ugly old actors and actress frowning and crying for 2 hours straight
    multiple cringe inducing scenes
    lots of cheese
    recycled moral themes
    PROFIT !

But will Spider-Pig be in this? THAT is the question.

    Spider-Pig, Spider-Pig. / Does whatever a Spider-Pig does. / Can he swing / from a web? / No he *can’t*, / He’s a pig. / Look out! / He is the Spider-Pig!

    Moses Ashford Says:

Yeah, I think overall the filmmaker has to give us new villains, new love interests and new stories.
I’d very much like to see Chameleon in the first movie.
Beetle, Electro, Silvermane, Kraven, Spot, Hammerhead, Tombstone all seem like good choices, because people who don’t read Spidey comics wouldn’t be aware of them. Silvermane and Hammerhead would be good in a movie together, if they were rivals, perhaps; just a thought.

yayy!! I love emma stone and dianna agron! But why are the spider mans always ugly? leat the last trilogy had james franco..this one needs at least one hot man!

  21. 21
    Alaia Says:

Why do people keep saying the word remake? It’s an adaptation! Nobone bats an eyelid when Batman continually gets rebooted.

SHE is very pasty & HE is just so blah. NEXT!
