Emma Stone is Gwen Stacy - Not Mary Jane Watson!

Emma Stone is Gwen Stacy - Not Mary Jane Watson!

Emma Stone will be playing the lead female role of Gwen Stacy in the upcoming Spider-Man reboot, Sony Pictures has confirmed to JustJared.com.

It was previously reported that the 21-year-old Easy A star was offered the former-Kirsten Dunst role of Mary Jane Watson, but director Marc Webb chose to have her play Gwen.

He said, “The chemistry between Andrew [Garfield] and Emma was stunning and made Emma the clear choice… Andrew and Emma will bring everything audiences expect to these roles, but also make them their own. Much to my surprise, it was fun to find out that our choice for Gwen is also a natural blonde.”

Well, whoever plays Mary Jane is gonna have to be a Ginger. So that’s two Gingers/Love interests in one film franchise. I’m not sure the world is ready.

first: Congrats! great choice, can picture the chemistry
second: she’s a natural blonde?
third: that chemistry could have been kept for Peter Paker’s true love, MJ Watson

Really? either way she’ll rock it!!

Really don’t want to see her go back to blonde, she stands out so much as a red head..

whoever she’s the new auburn haired beauty with a career

Well if this is indeed true, maybe Dianna Agron will get the role?
Emma Stone is definitely a great actress and I’m just happy that she will be in this movie, I see her more as MJ but I’ll settle. I love both her and Dianna.

I’m not excited about this movie at all, so it doesn’t even matter.
Andrew Garfield is boring. Emma Stone is boring. And this reboot is pointless.

This franchise is hungry for greatness. This is the time to rebuild the franchise. They should utilise the villains that weren’t included in the previous films such as Beetle (Abner Jenkins), Carnage, Chameleon, Electro, Enforcers, Hammerhead, Hobgoblin, Hydro-Man, Jackal, Kingpin, Kraven the Hunter, Lizard, Morbius, Mysterio, Rhino, Scorpion, Shocker, Silvermane, Spot, Tinkerer, Tombstone, Vulture.
Mary-Jane Watson has been a love interest in every Spider-Man film. That must change. They should include the following love interests and leave Mary-Jane Watson out of the films for at least a while:
Liz Allan, Betty Brant, Gwen Stacy, Debra Whitman, April Maye, Michele Gonzales, Jean DeWolff, Jessica Drew, Lisa Skye, Marcy Kane, Angelica Jones, Felicia Hardy, Sarah Rushman, Carlie Cooper, Norah Winters.
This is a second chance to get it right. This is an opportunity.

Spidey has really only had three relationships that were significant enough to bring to a film. Gwen, MJ, and Felicia (Ultimate Spidey adds Kitty Pryde, but she can’t be used for obvious reasons).

His brief relationships with Liz Allan, Betty Brant, and Debra Whitman are hardly worth bringing to the screen.

I’m a big Spidey fan, and I don’t even remember April Maye, Michele Gonzales, Lisa Skye, Marcy Kane, Angelica Jones, Sarah Rushman, Carlie Cooper, or Norah Winters. So yeah…pointless.

Jean DeWolff and Jessica Drew knew him, but never were involved in any kind of romantic relationship with him.

it seems that Parker was such a playboy…thats a lot of women, peter parker gets more ass than a barstool! Kingpin would be cool only if Nolan directed the film…otherwise forget it.

OK, we get it. You know a lot about Spidey. The thing about Spidey villians is that so many of them are really lame. The only ones that would transfer to the screen without being laughed at are the goblins, Electro, Venom, Carange, Chameleon, Kraven, Kingpin. I mean, the Vulture? C’mon.

Dude really? Who cares about any of those choices you just named? It’s about getting the audience in the theatres!

Emma Stone is going to get killed in a Spider-Man film.

Amazing Spider-Man: Green Goblin kills Gwen Stacy.
Ultimate Spider-Man: Carnage kills Gwen Stacy.

What are the chances that she might get killed in this coming film or the one after? I’d like to see someone cast as Felicia Hardy. Black Cat is badass.

Duff For Felicia Hardy

there is still hope

Gwen Stacy dies so there’s no point if Duff got it

@Arthur Marcus: Spiderman had all these love interests?? Really?? And I thought he was a dork…LOL!! Spiderman is COOOOLLL!!

@12 – You must still live in your mother’s basement!

@3 Infamouslyretarded – here we go again with the ahahahahahahah, such a funny special olympian, and you fkg imbecile, they had Bryce Dallas Howard who’s a redhead play the blonde Gwen and Kirsten Dunst, a blonde play Mary Jane the redhead in the previous Spider-Man movies, where the Fk you’ve been? It’s not a new concept like you make it sound. Good gawd, for someone who’s spouts off like a swarmy know-it-all all the time, you sure stepped in your own **** on this one. HARHARHARHAR!

stupid people corrector @ 10/06/2010 at 1:24 pm
