Lil Wayne: Solitary Confinement in Jail

Lil Wayne is in solitary confinement at New York’s Rikers Island after being caught with “music related contraband”.

The rapper, who has been in jail since March after being convicted on a gun possession charge, will be confined up to 23 hours a day until his scheduled release in November, the New York Daily News reports.

“He’s not in an area where he is mingling with other inmates – ever,” a source from the Department of Corrections told the NYDN.

Back in May, Weezy was busted after being found with a pair of headphones, a mp3 player and a charger.

isn’t that a bit much for some freaking music? we live in a military state, and it’s getting sadder each day, and harder to maintain our dignity.

I think that they should allow music for all prisoners but specific approved music. The prison system in the US obviously doesnt otherwise the US would be the safest country in the world. Imprisoning people is a whole industry. Prisons are over crowed and violent people get released early. People who have been in prison for decades get released and have no idea how to rehabilitate and adapt to society or find work. Criminals get to network with other criminals. People who have committed non violent crimes learn how to become violent because you have to be violent to survive in prison. People who are drug addicts or mentally ill or mentally disabled (Lilo is an example of all 3) get no help in prison and when they get out its the same cycle. Watch Prison Nation on National Geographic channel its an eye opening documentary.

@Kathy: he has no right to anything cause he messed up with a gun. he shouldnt have any of that stuff. he could use the headphones to injure others. its the saqme treeatment any other criminal would get in there. its only being noticed cauyse hes famous< but in porison it doesnt matter who u are< every one gets equal treatment.

Sounds like this jail doesnt put up with any BS from celebs. They should send Lindsay, Paris, and all the rest of the celebutards to Rykers Island instead of that jail in cali that lets them act up and get away with anything.
