I never get these celebrity people. All the same. Mom (or Dad) is in jeans, long sleeves, boots and a coat, AND a kid is ALWAYS almost naked. And eating an ice-cream. What is it? They all do that…. Tell me, it’s beyond my understanding… do they ever touch their kids’ feet or hands??????

How many years have they been married? I hope Katie knows that before they hit 10 years, time is up, she is out, and Tom gets to keep the kid. It is so sad. It is upsetting to see how they parent this child. There are so many disturbing pics of her for example, the make-up, the heels, the diapers at 4, the bottle at 4, the excessive amount of money they spend on clothes, subjecting her to the papz when clearly she is disturbed by it, there crazy scientology rules of never saying no to her, which has probably made her really spoiled. It seems that a lot of the negative posts must be written by the same person. What’s the point of dragging up old, unflattering photos taken years ago? It looks like some people are obsessed with Suri Cruise and are just trying to stir things up. Get a life!

That kid is coyote ugly. SOrry, but if it were not a celebrity’s child, this total brat would be completely ignored. Parenting is about setting parameters and doing what is best for the kids. So far, these two have been abysmal parents. Carry the kid everywhere, bottles until she’s four, heels from Chanel because SHE WANTS THEM. No problem. She will be the kind of kid who screams in the store because she didn’t get somethging and just to shut her up, she gets anything she wants. I see it every day and wonder how these parents cannot figure this out. The first and LAST time my daughter screamed and cried because she wanted something, we walked out of the store, without any purchases, left everything in the cart, and I told her that any time she screamed or cried or acted out, she would NEVER get anything, ever. She never cried again, and when I said no, she knew it meant no. She is a great human being, with compassion, love and is doing great in college. This kid won’t even bother going to college. Why> Scientology will need her to be one of their spokespeople. The whole thing, the lying, the fake marriage all makes me ill.

Right, I thought the same thing about that nasty diaper. Earlier they were shopping and Suri sits down to put shoes on and the diaper is nearly hanging to her knees. Can’t Katie feel that nasty diaper when holding Suri. i think her hair looks natural. and i dont think there’s anything wrong with the eyes. they’re just really wide-set, like katie’s. she’s basically a little katie. looks just like her – like reese and her daughter.

I’m conflicted. Sometimes I look at Suri and think that there has to be something wrong with a 4 year old who still wears diapers and is not socialized. I actually hope that these developmental delays are only due to poor parenting and lack of discipline.

I don’t care that the child is eating ice cream etc. I don’t think Katie is an abusive parent or bad parent like many. She is an INEFFECTIVE parent–big difference. She apparently, based on her comments, hasn’t realized that she is the PARENT and Suri is the CHILD. Instead she lets a CHILD tell her what to do. As a parent and a consumer I would never allow my child to be lifted over a sneeze guard so she could spray spittle on the ice cream. I wouldn’t allow her out and about in heels as almost every doctor will tell you–a child’s foot has not formed and the bones are soft and the heels can be damaging. I would have weaned my child from the bottle and from diapers by now. It is hard to tell whether these types of behaviors are directly attributable to Scientology mandates or Katie being ineffectual.

Unfortunately it will be Suri who suffers as she grows older. Both Bella and Connor seem grounded and kids who have values and manners. It is my understanding from articles and bios that Kidman would not allow Cruise to raise them totally in the cult beliefs when they were together. So that may be why the two of them appear to be more balanced. Yet Suri seems even at this young age to feel she is entitled to act however she wants to. You can tell from some of the captured capsule moments that she is either spoiled rotten or strong-willed–either way Katie doesn’t seem to impose boundries that Suri recognizes. Imagine this same child as a teenager and you will have another Lindsay Lohan. A teen that seemingly has talent, but feels entitled to do anything she wants to.

That said tho, whether you like this child or not, whether you hate this child or not, we all need to remember that she is only four and a half (or five if you believe she has been sired by another)–and her parents are ultimately responsible for setting limits as a child is not going to set limits.

I don’t care for Katie or Tom and never have. I think up until a point, Tom was a great father, but I also believe based on things he has said, things I’ve read, that he has let Scientology overtake his any common sense he ever had. Although I don’t think Andrew Morton is a great biographer, there is an interview on YouTube where another interviewer asks him if Scientology was responsible for the divorce from Nicole. He gave a thoughtful answer that was mostly yes. The interviewer then asked if Bella or Connor ever wanted to leave Scientology what would happen? Morton said something like “I don’t know–or I’m not sure–but Tom is so steeped in the doctrine, I am afraid that he would deny (they would be suppressives) the child(ren) that left and choose the cult.” Fanatical-ism is dangerous no matter what the reason–whether it is choosing to support a religion, cause or this stupid cult. And Tom definitely, if you view the leaked xenu tapes on YouTube, is a fanatic. Yet Katie has chosen to follow him. From his stating her name is now KatE to this cult belief–she seems to be overpowered by him and his personality. Hard to respect a person who allows another to change their name, demand they follow their beliefs or they won’t love them, etc. etc. etc. etc.

I agree with your question, however, I believe that they kept Suri hidden because of a few reasons: to hide her true age, and to hide the birth defect that she has. Maybe she had surgery and the scars had to heal. Most celebrities lavish at showing off their babies, unless of course the baby has an imperfection, like I think Suri had. She also was very cross-eyed, and maybe Tom wanted to hide that too. As for unveiling her in Italy, I think they planned it that way. Remember, they didn’t get married before her birth. They got married way after her birth, about a year. Katie was in French Polynesia, in Dec. while very pregnant, with her mother, Tom and the two other kids. SHe was rushed to a nearby hospital in Bora Bora because of “high blood pressure.” I think it was at this time that Katie gave birth to Suri. The, a year later, they were married in Italy, and honeymooned in Bora Bora, where Suri was born.

Will Smith has a son and daughter who started acting at very young ages. If Suri was a normal, average child, I’m sure she would be acting in commericals or small acting parts in movies.

I had not heard the Dec ’05 story about going to the hospital, but regardless of Bora Bora or a Celebrity Scientology Center, there was most likely not adequate medical care available when Suri was born. There could have been problems that denied her of oxygen, or some other issue. I would not wish a difficult birth on anyone, and who knows whether the surroundings would have made a difference for Suri in the end, but for Tom and Katie to take that gamble to keep up their lies is deplorable. We know Suri was not born in April at St. John’s. They went there long enough to make a statement and then got out before there were too many witnesses.
Last winter Suri was looking sort of normal, wearing decent clothes and hair fixed so I thought she was okay. Now I’m getting more and more concerned.

Do you know why there is a fascination with Suri? Tom and Katie caused this fascination with Suri. Katie was seen and photographed practically every other day, in her maternity outfits. Then after Dec. Katie is seen with a flat tummy, then the next day with a football-sized belly. Pictures of her belly fat, then belly thin are consistent. Then they announce Suri’s birth, and the long-awaited photo of the kid who supposedly is the cross between these two, never happens. There is even speculation that she doesn’t exist. Then we get reports that people have “seen” her in her home, but there are no pictures for many. many months. When the pictures do appear, Suri looks older than she is supposed to be, and People magazine admits that the photos were photoshopped. Why all of this hype? No wonder speculation exists. Yes, Tom and Katies created this fascination with Suri.

First off Annie, that picture you are referring to is after she gave birth. Her stomach is wrinkled from the shirt being tucked in: Katie Holmes’ Stretch Marks-May 16th 2006 on JJ (he always puts me in moderation when I use links).

Secondly if you go back to pages 95-98 (currently) for JJ/Katie Holmes–you can see her stomach changes drastically from day-to-day. There are pictures out there of her wearing a white top with straps clearly showing on her side and lower back. Is this a brace? A belly padding? Who knows. Most likely we will never know the truth unless some fanatic manages to get Suri, Tom and Katie’s DNA and then convinces any number of suspected males of fathering this child to take a test also. And what are the chances of this?

Personally I think if the cult ever falls/fails big time–then people in that cult will come out of the wood work with all sorts of stories that the cult has supressed thru fears or retaliations on its members. You obviously didn’t bother to digest anything I’ve said. I have said I don’t know if Tom is or is not that child’s biological father–I do know he is her emotional father regardless of the biology.

Secondly, regardless of who got who pregnant, Katie’s tummy was certainly going up and down during the last month or two of pregnancy. Normally the child is way too big for such huge fluctuations.

Do I care? NO.

Thirdly. You don’t know this woman either. Having worked in radio-tv I can tell you these actors, singers, sports folks are generally NOTHING like their public persona. I won’t name names, but I’ve met dozens of singers, TV, movie actors and sports people through my various jobs in the media. And some of the ones with the nicest, most wholesome public personas were truly the biggest a$$holes around. My point being, none of us know Tom or Katie and what they are really like in their private lives. I’ve heard thru friends that have worked on movie sets as crew that Katie isn’t as nice as she tries to come off. Hard to say what is true what is not. A woman who is assertive on the set gets labeled a b$tch. A male actor gets labeled a perfectionist. Katie evidently was a diva.

Do I care? NO. This is a gossip column. Entertainment. I don’t slam Suri. I mainly criticize and I do mean criticize Katie’s dress/fashion sense and her ineffective parenting. Sorry, but by no stretch of the imagination can anyone say that Katie has any sort of fashion sense.

I agree that Suri was born earlier than stated (most likely Dec ’05), but I am not familiar with the Bora Bora trip. Any links would be great. Once you get me started, I can easily research from there.
Not that I don’t believe Tom could come up with something this crazy, but my reservation on believeing this version relates to how they would have gotten Suri into the US. The only reason they got a birth certificated (manufactured) for her in mid 2006 was in order to obtain a passport.

The Tahiti trip(or the posted photos) was towards the end of Feb so Suri had to have been born by then. The articles about the trip even mention how Katie sure seemed to be doing a lot of travelling in her 7th and 8th month of pregnancy. There’s a photo of her boob deep in the ocean. At almost 8 months I can see knee deep, but she’s way out there.
I’ll keep working on timeline. I think there were US photos of Katie middle Dec 2005, but then she disappeared until the massive round of photos ops in Apr/end of Mar .
I’m still thinking through the getting Suri into the country part, but then again people do it every day, and Tom is a private jet guy, so maybe getting in wasn’t so hard.

This is Katie in late Feb ’06, vacationing in Bora Bora. Notice that she is supposedly 8 months pregnant, and bathing in the ocean all alone. My take on this is that Suri was already born, and this is her vacation.

I would think that they would want to be near their daughter and their newly born granddaughter. I mean, famous or not, mothers and fathers are always physically close by, to their daughter’s , daughter’s in-law, or sons, and sons-in-laws especially when the mother is giving birth to their new grandchild.
