Jean-Claude Van Damme has reportedly suffered a heart attack while filming his latest action film Weapon in New Orleans.

According to E!, the martial arts actor, who just celebrated his 50th birthday yesterday, suffered a minor heart attack which has temporarily halted production.

According to reports, Jean-Claude was briefly admitted to a local hospital and flew back to Belgium where he’s expected to make a full recovery.

“Timecop” was a good JCVD movie

VanDamme splits with one leg resting on a counter…the other leg resting on opposite counter ..UNBELIEVABLE.

And nobody played the bad-guy better than the late (can’t believe he’s gone ) Ron Silver.

    Speedy recovery JCVD!

Well, let’s see: he was taken to an area hospital FROM filming in New Orleans, then he was flown back to Belgium [again, in the midst of filming] and YET he didn’t have a heart attack. So. What really happened? What was the cause of the ER visit? Why did he go home? That’s great he says he didn’t have a heart attack. That’s great he says he’s doing well. So, what happened? And who gets to keep their job when they just leave in the middle of it, without a plausible explanation? Just curious, is all….

If JCVD actually suffered a heart attack he would have been advised by his attending physician not to fly. Flying can be extremely dangerous for anyone who has recently had a heart attack or any type of heart surgery. I doubt that JCVD would make a decision to fly if a physician had warned him that he would be risking his life. He may have experienced an episode of A-Fib or perhaps he deals with Mitral Valve Prolapse, which is very common. Either of these heart problems can cause a disturbance in a normal heart rhythm, which can be very frightening and can be initially mistaken for a heart attack.
