President Obama: Mythbusters' Newest Guest Star!

Barack Obama will take part of a special episode of Mythbusters!

Hosts Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman tested the Archimedes death ray legend, where Archimedes apparently started a fire using only mirrors and the sun.

The President “explained that he wasn’t quite satisfied with our earlier experiments,” Jamie told CBS News, “and so we need[ed] to take things full scale.”

The special episode of Mythbusters will air on December 8 on the Discovery Channel.

people love him too much. he only works on his image and not the country.

  • LH

I think he could find better things to do with his time than be on a reality show. People give Palin crap – well how many Presidents have done this? I think our economy deserves his full attention.

  • jackson

the entertainer n chief, what an embarrassment he has become

  • N.

At least he picked a good show, instead of doing a dreadful dancing show or something. lol

  • Dan

@LH: Yeah, well I think him and his staff can better decide than you. You guys all criticize him yet you’ll never amount to half as much as him.

Please vote smart this time around America, unless you all really like living on the plantation.

  • JohnDoe

So who really is the top dog in the us? Cant be Obama, because hes always doing PR…

  • ronald

    lame duck president

  • he’s keeping the chair warm

Obama has an impossible job fixing the Bush era disasters and watching him on TV shows does not give me any more confidence that he can fix the mess we are in.

    Vote for a Republican’t !
and we’ll all be surfs on the lands of the Fortune 500 in no time.

  • wow

looks like the racists are out in force! aren’t you missing your Glenn Beck indoctrination for today? or is it fat @ass oxy Limbaugh you worship?

  • you know

if people like Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck and the American Taliban were in power, they would make birth control illegal. ALL birth control. Even for married people. To the American Taliban, a woman is a vessel for a man’s pleasure and to impregnate at will. So keep on electing those tea party stooges if that’s how you want you and your daughters to live – 8 or 12 kids. You’ll spend your life barefoot, pregnant and in the kitchen. Probably impoverished as well trying to support them all on the man’s income alone.

Here’s the way I look at it… the more time he spends playing golf and doing stupid TV shows then the less time he has to screw up the country well anymore than he already has…

What is not mentioned in this article is that the President’s section (which was tiny) has already been taped back in July. It was taped at the White House and barely took up any time.

Secondly, he has chosen to appear on this show because too much emphisis in US school is on sports and more attention should be paid to Science & Maths.

But I guess Republicans prefer to stay stupid and rather listen to ignorant fools like Sarah Palin, Glen Beck and Limbaugh.

Also this episode is aimed at promoting Science and Technology as a field of study for students.

Not sure why the hell your post was directed at me, missy. I totally agree with #14 & #15, good for the President for taking a few minutes out of his day (whatever day it was) to promote Science and learning. If you’ve never seen the show, you shouldn’t be griping. On Mythbusters they take weird myths and urban legends and put them to the test, by using science to discover if the myths are plausible or just plain wrong. They promote learning by using the scientific process and usually in fun ways. My son is 9 and he loves this show. Yes, he watches iCarly but he also watches something that teaches kids to use their brains. And, I stick by my first comment, the President could have chosen something brainless, and I think it says a lot about him that he would choose to do something to promote learning to children, when he could just be doing the straight-up PR thing you guys are talking about.

#14-16 totally agree with you guys! :)
