“We discussed doing a duet and I really wanted to make sure it happened on this Christmas album,” Mariah has said. “So I feel really blessed to be able to have this opportunity to have this on record forever – a song with my mom. She’s the one who really got me into being so festive at Christmas. She’s very festive as well!”

Why does she sing like this? She used to have such a strong and powerful voice, now she sings like a baby through 90% of the song. Mind you, I only got through to the first chorus because that’s all I could stand. blech.

Oh man, I love Xmas, it’s my favorite period of the year. I love the spirit of it<3 Dear God, how amazing this song is. No wonder Mariah has such a voice, her mom is a freakin’ opera singer :D It’s so cool that Mariah’s expecting a baby. Ugh I love it!

I love Mariah Carey, her voice and singing and now, her lovely mother. My goodness but now we know where her daughter gets it from. Lovely.
I told her to not sing it like she was spelling the syllabus of the lyrics, but she is so stubborn. Always making things sound a little more ghetto.
I liked the song. I would give it a B- It wasn’t what I would have expected. I feel like Mariah’s style didn’t blend very well with her mom’s style. Mimi was more upbeat and her mom was more formal. The way Patricia Carey was singing the song was the way you would hear it in church and Mimi was singing it for a Christmas party. It wasnt a true duet, it seemed liked mostly mariah.
She gets her talent from her mom, that was amazing.
Simply sublime, her moms voice is as stunning as Mariah’s!

its amazing to think that with that talent mariah grew up poor and her mother struggled to provide for them..just imagine how much undiscovered there is out there!

I would have liked to hear Mariah sing in her chest voice- it’s not impossible, just add twang and there you go. Not one of my favourite songs to be honest. 6/10
