Jessica Simpson suits up for The Women’s Conference on Monday (October 25) at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, Calif.
The 30-year-old singer spoke at the conference alongside actress Ali Wentworth and Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s wife and California’s First Lady Maria Shriver.
The three-day conference also featured other notable speakers, including Michelle Obama, Mary J. Blige, Goldie Hawn, Glee‘s Amber Riley and fashion designer Donna Karan.

was there no other women for this conference? i mean, she may be a great person, but not the best speaker from what I’ve seen
She’s a frickin house. Yuck. And what was the last relevant thing she said???? She’s a moron.
She is not inspiring at all, why they would ask her to speak is beyond me. Pretty face, but no matter what she wears it looks bad, always too tight and she always ends up looking chubby even though she isn’t. If I were her I would have breast reduction surgery because all her clothes look awful on her and she looks like a stuffed sausage in her clothes.
She’s pretty in the face…but the boobs enter the room before she does these days.

It’s not just that she has gained quite a bit of weight, it’s also the fact that she wears the most matronly, unflattering clothes.

Why are you guys being so resentful? She’s successful, just because she gained weight or isn’t the brightest person doesn’t make her unfit to speak, it actually gives her more reason to. It seems to me that they wanted a variety of women to speak and she might not be the brightest, but she is a singer/actress and has done well for herself.
Regardless of the weight, why would she speak? She hasn’t done anything to advance women. She brings women down by perpetuating the stereotype that women are stupid, clingy and useless without attention and a man in their lives. She is the last person who should be there. Ugh, can’t we do any better that HER?
Why?
Look at the caliber of women she is speaking with–they are all accomplished at whatever it is they do. JS has done nothing basically except emote in a reality show. She has shown herself to be unreliable, untalented, and a total ditz. What could she possibly be speaking about that would be believable?
What the hell does she have to talk about?? How she has a new man she’s in love with? Yet another? What a joke! Every year this conference gets worse. At one time is was a prestigious event. Now it’s all about PR.
She’s much too low rent for such an event. Nothing to aspire to or emulate there.
