Adam Lambert: Acoustic Album in the Works!

Adam Lambert: Acoustic Album in the Works!

Adam Lambert is planning to release an acoustic album for the holiday season!

The 28-year-old entertainer dished to Aussie TV presenter Dylan Lewis that he’s hoping to have the record out soon – “Probably around Thanksgiving time,” Adam dished, “November, December.”

“We went around Europe in the earlier part of this year…and we did a lot of promo, so I had Monte, my guitar player, and my drummer at the time,” Adam explained. “We just did very stripped-back versions of the songs. We got our hands on some of those recordings. Then we also recorded some of the stuff from the actual Glam Nation Tour, so it’s going to be a mix of both.”

Adam also said that a second album is on the way – he hopes it’ll be out by spring or summer of next year!

UPDATE: Adam tweeted, “Oh and just to clear up a bit of a misunderstanding, I’m not releasing a full acoustic album. An EP. 3-5 tunes. :)”

I wonder how fast you guys are going to bury this comment in thumbs downs until it’s hidden…

But I don’t like Adam Lambert, especially after his on-stage performance kiss. It’s one thing to be out of the closet, but another to be using your sexuality as a cheap trick to promote your career.

    XXXO Says:

@Dan: What bothers me is when people like you can’t separate sexuality with orientation.

If Adam was straight, he would still be just as sexual. He’s a sexual person. He’s also a sweet person, an eloquent person etc. etc.

    His sexuality doesn’t define him.

If the song is about sexual dominance, he’s gonna get down n dirrty. If it’s a song like Broken Open, he’s gonna emote with emotion. Performance Artists and Theatrical portray their lyrics to the core, that’s what appeals them to people who enjoy all-round and larger than life performers like that.

If you don’t enjoy sensual or sexual performers that’s cool but you can’t pic n mix. Janet Jackson, Brit, Xtina, Shakira, Madonna, Riri, Justin…………America is used to seeing female performers be sexual onstage and in their videos so much that y’all don’t even notice it no more. Justin grinded his female dancer from behind onstage and it didn’t even make the news. Why do you think Adam’s does? I don’t even need to type it out…..

    Peter Says:

@Dan: Do you feel the same way about female performers? If not….your comment is lopsided.

If you do only listen to/watch 1 type of performer, fair enough. More for those who appreciate dimensional vocalists who give you something to listen to, something to look at and something to feel.

  19. 19
    taboo Says:

I was hoping he would do this, he sounds f**ing amazing acoustic

  20. 20
    Dan Says:

@XXXO: Actually, his sexuality does define him. His fame was boosted from the on screen kiss just like Taylor Swift’s Kayne incident boosted hers. He might be talented, but I find him repulsive. It’s different to sing about sexual things and grind than to shove your tongue down someone’s throat during a concert. It’s not even the male on male, it’s the fact that it was out of nowhere and he obviously did it to get some attention.

@Leila: People need to change, change isn’t entirely bad. Are you saying it’s something to be proud of if you’re the exact same after success and years of maturity? That’s something to be ashamed of. Responsibility and maturity should allow for some positive change…

    TT Says:

@Dan: You must be from the older generation. It’s a shame you are ashamed of sexuality. Sexuality is nothing I repeat NOTHING to be ashamed of.

Your argument has no ground as the AMA kiss actually stunted his career for a while. Alas, America needed that wake up call. It finally got people talking about the double standards they weren’t even aware of until then.

If a 3-second kiss is all you remember from a 16-set concert, that shows up your mindset more than anything.

  23. 23

DAN, if you dig it, cool. if you don’t, simply focus your interest elsewhere. no one’s forcing you to go to his gigs boo lol

    V Says:

@Dan You’re obviously not a fan and not his target audience. Not sure what you’re trying to start but you’re wasting your time if you think Adam Lambert would ever change himself just cause some stranger is a little bit frigid and thrown off by raw s.e.x.

The JBros repulse me but they have their own little fanbase, whatever. I don’t even waste my time typing about them.

  28. 28
    Bruce Says:

Dan you sound very old school. I get the feeling you are of an older generation? Just a guess by your comments. Myself and Adam are of a younger generation where sexuality whether it be homo or hetero is nothing shameful or to be closeted. As you can see in any of the videos his fans love the “tongue diving” and encourage it. He’s only done it 2x. The second time in Australia his fans kept begging for it in the meet and greet. Anyone who spends 12 plus hours and sometimes camped over night to get front row at a general admission concert would love some kissing. To use the word repulsed speaks of much deeper issues. Something tells me either fear or jealousy. People of an older generation probably don’t get it and quite frankly I don’t think Adam cares if you do or not.

    björkson Says:

    RE what @Dan said.

I remember when Glambert sang Satisfaction on Idol and everyone FREAKED OUT b/c it was “so sexual!” and “in your face!” at that time LOLOL.

Every other performance he did on that show got people really talking since a) they’d never seen that type of thing on that show and b) they’d never seen someone –who was not a female or a hetero male– perform like that, unless they were [acting] in a film or were dead rockstars locked away safe in history.

Now when you look back, it’s not controversial at ALL nor are his other ott performances. They’re actually tame, and just campy and fun and out there. I remember when someone sent me a YT link of him performing Crawl Thru Fire at The Zodiac Show and it was so sexual and crazy to me my jaw was open (the dancers, the fire, all of it). I had to keep pausing the vid because the sexual display was TOO much. But now when you watch it back, it’s not like that at all and I feel embarrassed I once felt that way, lol.

You have people like Gaga (and, DON’T GET ME WRONG, I bought her songs and I know she is mad talented) who say things like, “I would pray to God to make me weird like my Idols” and it really rubs me up the wrong way. When you have people who actually had a hard time because they were naturally weird and then you have pop stars like her or eg. Katy Perry saying, “I’m weird” — no you’re a white generic goodlooking female who likes to act kooky. If you were naturally eccentric you wouldn’t have to tell people that. I can’t deal with pretentious people like that.

I like and am usually drawn to people who accidently do iconic things and subconsciously path the way cause it’s just an extension to their being. Sometimes you don’t realize until years later.

  48. 48
    chrisbr Says:

@Dan: So, you must not like any of the women on the awards shows either… they are doing the same thing, pushing their sexuality… or do you simply have an aversion to sexual men. I happen to like sexual men, and their orientation has little to do with me.

  49. 49
    Bruce Says:

I find it really interesting that people get so bent out of shape over sexuality or just plain old sex in general but don’t blink in eye over violence and war. The news shows clips of people being shot and murdered, corpses on the streets etc and people yawn. Parents buy their children 1st person shooter video games and don’t think twice. Give the kid a gun but don’t let them see a sex scene because their mind might be corrupted – wtf? Like I said above a lot of it is the older generation and yes some of the older generation in the gay community too. Then you have people like Ms Bar Jolie GaGa & Dan who want to mold people into what they want them to be and not who they are. Adam Lambert just said the most perfect quote in a recent interview. “I have come from the belief that hiding something from people and manipulating what they think of you is far more offensive and disrespectful than just being upfront and being who you are.”
Apparently people like Dan and Jolie GaGa don’t believe in accepting people for who they are but would rather force them to behave or sing the way they would like them to. Everyone is different and Adam Lambert has stated from the beginning that he never fit in and was always the “weird” kid. Why do you want to make him vanilla like yourself?

  50. 50
    AlexaKeaton Says:

that’s part of his appeal. there are a lot of good singers and songwriters out there, it takes more than that. i can name 10 bl00dy brilliant vocalists who don’t excite me. i can’t pinpoint what it is that makes someone exciting but i know i find his unapologetic swagger/flamboyance/sexual bravado hot/thrilling/refreshing.

if you don’t like sexy ~timez, go listen to susan boyle lol. but i bet you don’t have that same opinion about women or straight men.

  54. 54
    Dan Says:

In all honesty, I was just curious as to how fast my comment would get buried in thumbs down since I always see so much support for Adam Lambert.

Although his music, nor his image, appeal to me, I am in no way a part of the “old generation”. I’m 21 and it’s not his sexuality that bothers me. I used to like what Lady GaGa put out until she became too much of a show, which I have nothing against, but both her and Adam Lambert bury themselves in what they stand for, so deep it’s hard to tell if it’s natural or heavily disguised.

If Adam Lambert came up in front of me and made out with some dude, I wouldn’t care, it’s not his sexuality that bothers me. I suppose I’m just used to simpler times, when someone wasn’t as famous as the make-up on their face or the cloth on their skin.

But to those who enjoy his music, by all means enjoy it, don’t get so offended by what one person says. If it weren’t for people such as Adam Lambert, the industry would be painted plainly. If you enjoy his work, more power to you.

  55. 55
    Jack Says:

@Dan: It’s only “hard to tell” if you’re so focused on 1 thing.

If you can’t see the bigger picture, that’s not his issue.
For example I don’t give a cr@p about Gaga’s outfits, I enjoy her voice, musicianship and music though. I have no idea why so many people are obsessed with her image.

This comment of yours was actually rational, but the comment you left at @20 was pure ignorance. “Actually his sexuality…..” “is fame was boosted…..”

No facts in your comment, just false assumptions. I have yet to see you post a similar comment about sexual and free females you praise on this site.

  70. 70

    @RuPaul: you. are a fierce <3 <3 <3

  71. 71
    Dan Says:

@Jack: Since you took the time to read the entire comment, I’ll take the time to review the old post I don’t even remember…

All I meant to say was that the kiss was used to boost his popularity and fame, I didn’t mean it was wrong that it was with another man, not at all. I took it as a massive publicity stunt.

And by the comment of change is good, I don’t mean he needs to stop being sexual or attracted to men, all I meant was that with his fame, he could’ve been taken a bit more series if he didn’t shove it in your face. I don’t mind homosexuals at all, but I don’t want to listen to music and think about flamboyant men, there’s a difference between homophobia and preferences.

That’s just my opinion, again, if you enjoy his work, more power to you. Although I am a fan of Lady GaGa’s work and her costumes, just sometimes it’s hard to tell who she really is, kind of like Stephen Colbert who is ALWAYS in character.

  72. 72
    Tyler Says:

@Dan: You are way off. AGAIN.

That kiss, was not planned or rehearsed OR anything of the sort. TJ didn’t know about it, the band didn’t, the crew didn’t, hell Adam didn’t know he was going to do it until he did. UNLIKE the Madonna/Britney/Xtina kiss that was SCRIPTED, Adam’s 3 second frenchkiss was a result of his adrenaline rush and him getting carried away with it — in the best way possible. Google ‘adrenaline’ and see what it does to you.

So your logic makes no sense — it’s all in your head. You may live your life by a ruler and rulebook but some of us despise that. Some people like Adam and his entire band/dancers fly by the seat of their pants. Most good entertainers thrive on trill-seeking. I’ve been following this dude’s career for a while now and he really is just as spontaneous offstage.

You already admitted you are more old fashioned when it comes to music. I’m not sure why you continue bringing up this gaygaygay when people are trying to talk about something else to you.

“by the comment of change is good, I don’t mean he needs to stop being sexual or attracted to men, all I meant was….”

But you DID mean he needs to stop being sexual. YOU clearly stated that! You can not and will not be able to mold him to fit a norm, to make you more comfortable, to make him more safe and universal. The fact that he is in your face and sexual and does whatever the FUXK he wants AND somehow manages to get away with it, is PART of his appeal. He does things most of us want to do but can’t cause we’re not entertainers or rockstars or fierce/talented/smart enough.

As I said, it is PART of his appeal. Imagine a female you find sexy or badass, that’s how a lot of his fans see him. Of course he has fans (eg. straight male dudes) who don’t see him that way but still think he’s dope because he’s real, fun, doesn’t give a sh*t and has talent.

Asking him to stop being himself to please people or whatever is insane. It’s basically erasing part of his appeal.

Not sure whether you’ve gathered this yet but Adam Lambert is a rebel. He may be nice be he is still very much a rebel who likes to be in control. Comments like yours pis.s him off so much I can see him going out of his way to put on an even wilder show next tour stop.

    “I don’t mind homosexuals”

I just don’t understand why people like you who waste time and energy typing about something so insignificant, don’t channel that into talking about something that actually threatens society like violence.

I don’t condone violence, racism, xenophobia, homophobia, ageism and sexism because it’s wrong, PERIOD. Not just because someone I love and respect is affected by it. You make it sound as if it’s okay to use that type of language (and it’s not just you, there are many naive comments like all over this blog) just because this particular person doesn’t fall under that category.

Guys, I really like Dan’s comment in Katy Perry’s post.

“I wonder how fast you guys are going to bury this comment in thumbs downs until it’s hidden…..But I don’t like Katy Perry, especially after her I Kissed A Girl video and her constant exploitation of the gay community to further herself.

It’s one thing to be a lesbian but another to be using FAUX LESBIANISM as a cheap trick to promote your career. Not to mention her offensive Ur So Gay lyrical slur that got her a ton of attention, exactly what she wanted.

Her fame was boosted after I Kissed A Girl. She might be talented (snort) but I find her repulsive.”
