Adam Lambert: Acoustic Album in the Works!

Adam Lambert is planning to release an acoustic album for the holiday season!

The 28-year-old entertainer dished to Aussie TV presenter Dylan Lewis that he’s hoping to have the record out soon – “Probably around Thanksgiving time,” Adam dished, “November, December.”

“We went around Europe in the earlier part of this year…and we did a lot of promo, so I had Monte, my guitar player, and my drummer at the time,” Adam explained. “We just did very stripped-back versions of the songs. We got our hands on some of those recordings. Then we also recorded some of the stuff from the actual Glam Nation Tour, so it’s going to be a mix of both.”

Adam also said that a second album is on the way – he hopes it’ll be out by spring or summer of next year!

UPDATE: Adam tweeted, “Oh and just to clear up a bit of a misunderstanding, I’m not releasing a full acoustic album. An EP. 3-5 tunes. :)”

No, Monte is his guitar player and music director. The totally adorable blonde that he kisses periodically is Tommy Joe Ratliff, his bass player.

@Dan You’re obviously not a fan and not his target audience. Not sure what you’re trying to start but you’re wasting your time if you think Adam Lambert would ever change himself just cause some stranger is a little bit frigid and thrown off by raw s.e.x.

The JBros repulse me but they have their own little fanbase, whatever. I don’t even waste my time typing about them.

Dan you sound very old school. I get the feeling you are of an older generation? Just a guess by your comments. Myself and Adam are of a younger generation where sexuality whether it be homo or hetero is nothing shameful or to be closeted. As you can see in any of the videos his fans love the “tongue diving” and encourage it. He’s only done it 2x. The second time in Australia his fans kept begging for it in the meet and greet. Anyone who spends 12 plus hours and sometimes camped over night to get front row at a general admission concert would love some kissing. To use the word repulsed speaks of much deeper issues. Something tells me either fear or jealousy. People of an older generation probably don’t get it and quite frankly I don’t think Adam cares if you do or not.

@sillyme: Monte is the older one, longtime friend, like an Uncle to him.

He’s also Madonna’s guitar player and longtime friend. Mindblowing on the guitar. Tommy’s alright, but Monte’s genius.

    RE what @Dan said.

I remember when Glambert sang Satisfaction on Idol and everyone FREAKED OUT b/c it was “so sexual!” and “in your face!” at that time LOLOL.

Every other performance he did on that show got people really talking since a) they’d never seen that type of thing on that show and b) they’d never seen someone –who was not a female or a hetero male– perform like that, unless they were [acting] in a film or were dead rockstars locked away safe in history.

Now when you look back, it’s not controversial at ALL nor are his other ott performances. They’re actually tame, and just campy and fun and out there. I remember when someone sent me a YT link of him performing Crawl Thru Fire at The Zodiac Show and it was so sexual and crazy to me my jaw was open (the dancers, the fire, all of it). I had to keep pausing the vid because the sexual display was TOO much. But now when you watch it back, it’s not like that at all and I feel embarrassed I once felt that way, lol.

You have people like Gaga (and, DON’T GET ME WRONG, I bought her songs and I know she is mad talented) who say things like, “I would pray to God to make me weird like my Idols” and it really rubs me up the wrong way. When you have people who actually had a hard time because they were naturally weird and then you have pop stars like her or eg. Katy Perry saying, “I’m weird” — no you’re a white generic goodlooking female who likes to act kooky. If you were naturally eccentric you wouldn’t have to tell people that. I can’t deal with pretentious people like that.

I like and am usually drawn to people who accidently do iconic things and subconsciously path the way cause it’s just an extension to their being. Sometimes you don’t realize until years later.

    chrisbr Says:

@Dan: So, you must not like any of the women on the awards shows either… they are doing the same thing, pushing their sexuality… or do you simply have an aversion to sexual men. I happen to like sexual men, and their orientation has little to do with me.

  24. 49
    Bruce Says:

I find it really interesting that people get so bent out of shape over sexuality or just plain old sex in general but don’t blink in eye over violence and war. The news shows clips of people being shot and murdered, corpses on the streets etc and people yawn. Parents buy their children 1st person shooter video games and don’t think twice. Give the kid a gun but don’t let them see a sex scene because their mind might be corrupted – wtf? Like I said above a lot of it is the older generation and yes some of the older generation in the gay community too. Then you have people like Ms Bar Jolie GaGa & Dan who want to mold people into what they want them to be and not who they are. Adam Lambert just said the most perfect quote in a recent interview. “I have come from the belief that hiding something from people and manipulating what they think of you is far more offensive and disrespectful than just being upfront and being who you are.”
Apparently people like Dan and Jolie GaGa don’t believe in accepting people for who they are but would rather force them to behave or sing the way they would like them to. Everyone is different and Adam Lambert has stated from the beginning that he never fit in and was always the “weird” kid. Why do you want to make him vanilla like yourself?

    AlexaKeaton Says:

that’s part of his appeal. there are a lot of good singers and songwriters out there, it takes more than that. i can name 10 bl00dy brilliant vocalists who don’t excite me. i can’t pinpoint what it is that makes someone exciting but i know i find his unapologetic swagger/flamboyance/sexual bravado hot/thrilling/refreshing.

if you don’t like sexy ~timez, go listen to susan boyle lol. but i bet you don’t have that same opinion about women or straight men.
