Chris Evans' Captain America Covers EW!

Chris Evans' Captain America Covers EW!

Chris Evans suits up in head-to-toe red, white, and blue threads as super-soldier Captain America for the latest cover of Entertainment Weekly.

The 29-year-old actor worried about what would happen to his career if the movie flopped. “I’ve made some spotty films in the past (The Losers, Push), and I didn’t want another one on this scale,” says Chris. “I remember telling a buddy of mine, ‘If the movie bombs, I’m f—ed. If the movie hits, I’m f—ed!’”

The studio also tested a number of actors for the role, reportedly including Channing Tatum (G.I. Joe), John Krasinski (The Office), and Ryan Phillippe (Crash).

Captain America: The First Avenger is due out July 22, about three months after the company’s other major 2011 release, Thor, starring Chris Hemsworth.

@janet: @Kirsten: I agree, also if you haven’t seen London, it’s pretty great, despite the reviews. Chris Evans is so talented, he just hasn’t had the breakthrough role which put him on the map. I really hope this is his franchise, this has great potential since the other superhero films are doing well, but they have to sell it. I’m definitely in support of this!

He needs to stop pouting when he tries to be serious. Maybe the director should have him work with a coach, like the person they used in LOTR to get the actors to totally change their expressions and their speech (Liv Tyler’s performance is a great example).

Hmm. I don’t really like this cover. If this movie is a hit I will be surprised. I don’t think many people really care about seeing a Captain America movie. But I could easily be wrong. We’ll see!

Anyone thinks Chris Evans looks like Channing Tatum i.e. Channing Tatum should have played Captain America in the first place.

I love Chris Evans work and wish him the best but seriously take a look at the cover shot it’s basically Channing Tatum look.

Hopefully, this movie is a hit.

Good casting choice, but Captain America’s not going to bossing around Tony Stark anytime soon. I still don’t know how they’re going to make Chris Evans as Captain America the boss of Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, because Downey chews up every seen he’s in.

Captain America needs to go to washington dc and fight dirty politicians who are against American workers and tax breaks for getting jobs back in our country and factories gone overseas .
