They couldn’t include none of the actors from “For Colored Girls”? Really? WTF!!! Thoughts?

    Granny Says:

Every magazine has to have an African American on the cover for every issue? So, does this work both ways? Are there Caucasians on the covers of Ebony, Essence, Heart and Soul, XXL, etc of every issue of these magazines? Also, what about Hispanics and Asians–they aren’t on the cover of THR either and they’re upset? They’re isn’t even one guy on the THR cover either?

Amy Adams? Really? I don’t think so.

The reason they are all white, is because they are the front runners for Oscar season…helloooooooooo.
Not everything is racist…..on that note, I can’t stand three out of the six actresses on the cover. lol

Oh lord, imagine if Anette and Hilary go head to head AGAIN this year, and Swank wins, AGAIN? I would be soo pissed!

    ModestMouse Says:

Usuallly there’s one actress that never makes it. I think that person is Hilary Swank.

As for race…god you people are ridiculous. Why the f_ck would Gabourey Sidibe be on the cover when she isn’t in contention this role? As for For Colored Girls, the film is getting horrible reviews.

    ModestMouse Says:

Sorry, I meant this year, not this role.

What an incredibly diverse cover in 2010, no less!!. ANd nobdody said there had to be just Black actresses what about Latina, Asian, Indian.

    Mari Says:

Just get over it, I’m from Argentina, (in case you do not know it is in South America) and does not bother me. These must be the actresses who are being considered for the awards, that’s all.

The Hollywood Reporter will be run deep underground with Janice Min as Editor. It’s already looking like US Weekly. Who cares who’s on this cover? Thank your lucky stars that you are not on the cover of this new “weekly” It’s no longer prestigious.

    smh Says:

Did i say every mag has 2 have blacks on the cover ????no. i did NOT!
I am just saying there are diverse actors who are non-white who have oscar buzz but they are not feautred here!

Halle Berry must be furious!!! She wants another Oscar so bad… and they didn’t call her for this cover.

    Helena Says:

Amy Adams looks more like Nicole Kidman than Nicole Kidman herself.

    clay Says:

Janice Min, the Editor of the Hollywood Reporter is Asian. She didn’t put any Asian women on the cover either. So why fuss?
    This cover isn’t about ‘race’.

People, get off of this race thing. It brings humanity down to a depraved level. Can’t you just enjoy the actors they have on the cover for what they contributed to be nominated for an Oscar?

    Lilakoi Moon Says:

The prettiest is Natalie Portman but my favorite is Helena Bonham Carter, God I love this woman <3

    sunflower Says:

The buzz is that Halle Berry’s performance in her latest movie is definitely Oscar worthy. THey even changed the release date to make sure she is eligible. She definitely should have been on that cover. It’s pretty sad when in 2010, people have to have things pointed out. Who ever planned that cover lives in a pretty narrow world.

    chicki Says:

Natalie Portman is definitely the prettiest.

  22. 22
    clay Says:

Halle Berry’s entry into the Oscar was a ‘last minute entry’ .

    Google it.

This magazine cover was probably planned well in advance of Halle’s people’s last minute ‘strategic’ move to get her nominated. You can’t expect magazines to re-arrange a cover that has already been shot with 6 other people to put in someone under these conditions.

Halle will get other covers and recognition. I bet it she understands.

  23. 23
    Star Fox Says:

Berry’s movie only came to people’s attention last week, #20. Quit being so judgmental.

  24. 24
    lexy hates bilson Says:

What African American or Latina should they have included? Who has a movie coming out? That Gabey chick has done ONE movie – this is a issue about NEW Oscar contenders. Halle Berry doesn’t have anything coming out in time for Oscar season. Janet Jackson isn’t going to be nominated for an Oscar for that Tyler Perry movie. Be realistic!

  25. 25
    the truth Says:

All the women deserve to be on this cover. All are talented women also.
