OlderRihanna Mourns Loss of 11-Year-Old Broadway Singer
Rihanna is mourning the loss of 11-year-old Broadway singer Shannon Tavarez, who battled acute myeloid leukemia.
Shannon, who performed as young Nala in The Lion King, captured the hearts of Rihanna and Alicia Keys, both of whom worked to get the word out about bone marrow donation to help those fighting leukemia.
“Just got off of a plane ride and got horrible news that our little star Shannon [Tavarez] has lost her battle against leukemia,” Ri tweeted. “Way too soon…keep her family in your prayers.”

Oh so sad :( When Children die (so young) it’s just not fair :( poor little girl.. and poor parents and family who have to deal with this tragedy.

…this is the kind of post perez would put up, but he wouldn’t even have mentioned rihanna. it’s about time you start stepping up.
from what i heard she was a very talented and strong girl. she was dedicated in helping other during her sickness. so sad her life ended so soon. they said it was hard for her to get a donor because she was a minority. We need to bring this awareness 2 ALL city schools and around the world. Im from philly and was never educated about any of this growing until I moved away. RIP. I send my prayers…..
