NBC Cancels 'Undercovers'

NBC has pulled the plug on J.J. Abrams‘ latest drama, Undercovers.

The show starred Boris Kodjoe and Gugu Mbatha-Raw as retired and married CIA agents called back in to duty after leaving the spy world behind.

THR reports that three more episodes will likely air at some point, but no date has been set for those airings.

5.8 million people watched last night’s episode of Undercovers.

Good riddance. Most of TV shows are c.r.a.p., but seriously, how many cop dramas can one take?

Wow, so sad. I was rooting for it even though it put me to sleep watching it. They are both so talented and sexy.

Aww, I loved this show, but then again, I’m not shocked b/c it’s NBC and it hasn’t been popular in year. I think the show would’ve done better if it was on another network.

WOW! That’s one of the only OKAY shows NBC has left!! Even less people watch The Apprentice. HAHA oh well

It was totally boring, but I didn’t realize the ratings were that bad. I think NBC thought just because it was a black couple in this role that people would flock to it, but good writing is important.

I suspected they would. There’s nothing unique about the show. I tried watching, but it just wasn’t working.

without any promotion and it still had these numbers. who cancels a show that averages 6mil viewers? nbc didn’t promote it so it could fail and then they could say ,”see! we tried to put blacks as leads but…” i watched. i liked because it wasn’t a COP SHOW!

I didn’t watch the show and now I regret it…Some shows do way worse and they don’t get canceled. Oh well…::pours glass of wine:: cheers!

Wow. I watched a little of this when it was on last night but it was nothing to grab my attention so I turned the channel.

i think they just banked on lost fans coming to see it…….

i was interested in watching one episode…and then forgot all about it. ohhh well.

Can you imagine a fun, adult, sophisticated show with two very hot leads gets cancelled and Jersey shore is one of the most watched shows on TV? What is the world coming to? This show was fun. Most shows on TV that are not cancelled are crap. So sad. These two studied their craft and a 4 feet tall Jersey trashy girl comes in and takes all the v iewers. America needs help!

Something smells fishy here. Pulling the plug so soon just doesn’t make sense, given the ratings. I was looking forward to seeing the show here in the UK, that’s unlikely now. Can someone shed some light on this…. any inside info.

I watched the show and tried to support it each week, as there are hardly ever any shows with positive ethnic characters of any kind on tv. Having said that, the show was not written well. Was is supposed to be funny or serious? Their boss chewing them out at the end of every episode got “old” quick. As an african-american I hate that two beautiful people who happen to share part of my background didn’t get enough time to flourish in these non-stereotypical roles.

Go to NBC.com and watch the episodes whenever….

I liked the show, but the scheduling was too early in the evening. I thought it was one of the better shows introduced this season, but I also liked Outlaw. I am getting really sick of these reality shows that degrade human beings in real life getting all the breaks. Why can’t we have some well crafted actors, like in undercovers, being a part of the evening lineup. I really don’t want to watch TV to see real life people argue and go after each other. I am not an ethnic minority ( I am disabled and non ambulatory), but I thought these two actors were great, and a lot more interesting than another retool of Law and Order. NBC just sucks anymore. They need to find a way to use these two talented people in another series. Or maybe CBS can pick them up, like it did Medium.

I watched it. didn’t like it. another show trying to do a “TV version of Mr. and Mrs. Smith”. let it go already.
