Milo Ventimiglia Excited to Get Some 'Rest'

Milo Ventimiglia is opening up about the concept behind his latest project, a NBC drama based on his comic book Rest.

“For me, all I wanted to do was make a great comic book because I read comic books as a kid and I [still] read them as an adult and I wanted to contribute to the world of comic books,” the 33-year-old actor tells TV Guide.

“Then when the idea came up of doing something else with the concept, and after linking up with some great producers and the amazing writer Phil Levens, it was like, ‘Yeah, let’s make a TV show,’” he says.

The former Heroes star will executive produce but hopes to also star in the series as John Barrett, who is able to function without any sleep after a drug trial program.

Must be nice to be the exec producer of your show. He’ll have much more creative control than Heroes. I love Milo, so I’ll be checking this one out. I hope it has some darkness to it; I’m tired of neutered “comic book” dramas like No Ordinary Family.

Cannot wait for this! I love Milo and I still think NBC are losers for dumping Heroes but hopefully british broadcasters buy the rights and I can see “Rest” have read the comic and its ace – heres hoping Beserker is next! LOVE YOU MILO! x
