Daniel Radcliffe Sings 'Elements' on Graham Norton Show!

Check out this crazy clip of Daniel Radcliffe spewing out all the elements of the periodic table on The Graham Norton Show!

Dan was on the popular U.K. talk show where he performed “Elements,” a song written by scientist Tom Lehrer, whom Daniel called “kind of my hero.”

First few lines of the song: “There’s antimony, arsenic, aluminum, selenium, and hydrogen and oxygen and nitrogen and rhenium, and nickel, neodymium, neptunium, germanium, and iron, americium, ruthenium, uranium, europium, zirconium, lutetium …”

Watch as the Harry Potter star recites the lyrics and gets a round of applause from fellow guests Rihanna and Colin Farrell!

I love Graham Norton…his guests always seem to have a great time. I can’t think of any talk show here in the US that’s anywhere near as enjoyable…maybe Ellen a few years ago.

That is a hard song to sing and to even remember but it comes in handy in Chemistry Class.

Note Rihanna, Colin are like, “What are those things Daniel’s naming? Elements? What are those things?”

He is sooo weird.

# 8

Colin’s wincing(?) face made me crack up.

All the guests were hilarious tonight. More TV hosts should interview celebs together…

He must have gone there straight after the premiere. He’s wearing the same suit and everything.

Love him!!! That was brilliant!!

he’s like a weirdo but that’s great! It makes him interesting and not like all the morons in hollywood. I wished I knew this song when I was in highschool haha

You know how hard it is to do that? It is crazy hard.. & Rhianna just has a smirk on her face and pretends to check her watch on her wrist lol god I hate that ignorant trick….I bet she couldn’t even memorize the alphabet let along the periodic table. She probably had no idea what that even means…Stupid trick! I love DanRad smart as an arrow!

For an interesting book on the periodic table see,

Eric Scerri, The Periodic Table, Its Story and Its Significance, Oxford University Press, 2007.

@Anna: You’re an assuming idiot! U didn’t even watch the entire interview, she beamed when he came in (he arrived later than them because of the Premiere) and then they were ALL teasing him. She is sassy, some people can’t take that.

Graham Norton’s show is always great, love Colin’s facial expressions, he’s funny, and HOT. Nice song Harry Potter, seriously I couldn’t remember that.

i think rihanna checking her imaginary watch because he’s supposed to sing it under a minute, and it was just good fun.

Love Daniel! Harry Potter actors are soo classy and brilliant.

Hehe, it brought back so many memories of listening to that song in chemistry class when I was 13. I love that he is such a geek but actually makes it kinda of cool.

It was a great show last night.

Daniel is not the greatest actor of his generation, BUT he’s such a charming and witty man.
I like him so much!

I love how he keeps taking big breaths and you think he’s finished…and he starts again. Love it!!

Dan is one of a kind. A breath of fresh air in the turbid world of exaggerated Hollywood egos. But didn’t Tom Lehrer (Harvard) do something like this years ago? I remember that he had a patter song about the elements or somesuch.

Yes indeed this is Tom Lehrer’s patter song. Dan borrowed or stole it, whatever.

OK sorry, Dan did give credit to Tom Lehrer. My error. Sorry, Dan.
