Brad Pitt To Create Chilean Miner Movie?

Brad Pitt To Create Chilean Miner Movie?

Brad Pitt‘s production company, Plan B Entertainment, is in negotiations to buy the film rights to the rescued Chilean miners’ story.

A lawyer for the miners told a publication in Santiago (via TheWrap) that Plan B has made a multi-million dollar offer and that there’s potential for several of those rescued to be cast.

The lawyer added that there have been an average of ten offers per day to buy the rights to the story, but that the miners want to form a holding company to split profits evenly before they sign with a producer.

UPDATE: A rep for Plan B told EW the reports are a “huge wave of nothing. We have shown potential interest, but there have been no serious discussions.”

A great interview with AJ about the Untitled Love Story she directed.
Thanks 4Q. That’s a fantastic interview and it was great of Angie to do what’s essentially an exit interview. Even as she explained the purpose of her film she dispelled all the bullshite rumors about who the movie was about. I hope that Hasecic chick got the message loud and clear – you don’t know what you’re talking about, so until you see the movie, shut the hell up.
Also, I can’t help myself. I should leave X out of this…but…time and time again Angie PROVES she walks her talk. She wanted the movie to get made, she sat down and did her research and wrote a script, approached someone she’s worked with for financing, someone who’s opinion she trusts for guidance – AND THEN SHE AND BRAD PUT THEIR OWN MONEY INTO THE PROJECT TO GET IT MADE!!!
Not only did Angie and Brad put their own money into the project, Angie said she didn’t want to direct and yet somehow found herself doing it. It made sense for her to direct because she was the genesis for the story and the one with the knowledge to work with the local actors. Hiring a director from the region probably wouldn’t have delayed production and put the movie in hands of people they didn’t know and it wouldn’t have been her vision anymore. X said she’s “bursting to direct” and yet the biitch keeps taking roles in one bad romcom after another. She’s supposedly got more money than Angie. Put up or shut the fvck up already. In the end – this is why X will forever be a wannabe and never arrive.

How did you raise the budget?
I gave the script to Graham King whom I did The Tourist with, and he said he`d support the project, and Brad and I also put our money in. We had a big talk about doing it with local people and no names. It had to be that way. And it got to a point where I almost couldn`t not do it! I didn`t want to be a director, it somehow just fell so into place. I had one day when I realized it all fell into place and I had that panic moment of oh my god… what am I doing? I don`t know how to do this. I`ve never done this. I don`t know what I`m getting into and getting myself into. And it`s not a simple story and it`s a sensitive story, and it`s the people`s history and the cast is from this area, and I want to make sure I do right by them. I had trouble sleeping for a little while. But it`s been the greatest film experience.

ITA – They’re still in Europe. It doesn’t make any sense for them to come back to LA because they are Tourist premieres scheduled all over Europe in Dec. They’re in London, Paris, Berlin, and Rome – I’m kind surprised they’re not in Venice, but whatevs. The movie doesn’t open in Japan until March, so they won’t have to do an Asia tour for a while. France seems like a logical place to spend Thanksgiving and I’d be willing to be they have a little vacay planned for X-mas for the kids and so Angie can relax before editing her movie and Brad before he starts shooting another film himself. Brad’s doing 2 movies inside of 8 months? He hasn’t done that the entire time they’ve been together. When Angie said they would be in “work mode” for the next few years – she wasn’t kidding.

    @Passing Through:

I agree I really see them taking a break down the road. Brad is getting more into Producing. And if you really listen to their interviews they give a lot away in small pieces.. Brad said that he sees himself doing some other things outside acting. I think they both enjoy being in front of the camera but it is almost like they have to be pulled in to do a Movie. Angie was able to do SALT and The Tourist because she doesn’t agree to do films years in advance. Neither does Brad “I like to keep it clean” in case something great come my way, I’m available”
(not a direct quote.. watch IB 2nd disc for the actual)

But I’m really excited by what they are doing. They both have just bloomed since getting together..

But like I said PT.. I see them taking some time off in the future.

Did you guys see that thread Jared has on Susan Sarandon, Sigourney Weaver & Jane Fonda in the V magazine saying age doesn’t matter? The pix of them are Photoshopped to win an inch of unrecognizability. I didn’t know it was Jane Fonda until I read her name! If age doesn’t matter, then why have V Photoshop their pix so they look 15-25 years younger? More hypocrites. Just what Hollywood needs.

  • busted

    @Passing Through:

I saw that and Jane has admitted that she had work done. Sigourney I am not sure about. I saw her in the previews of her last film and in Avatar and she looks like a woman just aging.
Now Susan again I don’t know..

It makes me think of Brad’s mag cover when he let it all hang out.. then we got all these women on covers claiming to be without makeup.. They sure gave that “fake” stance up quickly didn’t they.

We see some actresses without makeup who look great. I actually think Angie is more beautiful without a lot.. Pics of her on that movie set were stunning.. just so beautiful. A few others are the same. Don’t need much make up at all.

I’m watching the NE/Indianapolis game and they just showed a trailer for The Tourist. It was a different trailer than the ones I’ve seen online – and frankly the movie looked much better in this trailer than some of the online ones. Gosh…I can’t think of the last time I saw a trailer for an X movie during an NFL game…just saying…

Excellent interview! Anyone anywhere still in the dark, guessing or just wanting to know about Angie’s “UNTITLED love story” should look to this interview for answers. Very professional piece of magazine journalism. I know she wont do it (commercial considerations) but when it is all said and done I hope she goes for the original-language/black&white version.

Just saw a couple of pictures of the Jolie-Pitts on the Megas, ( to the person that is always complaining pi*s off) Angie is holding Viv and next to her is Zahara. Children are funny one minute Mommy is the favorite then it is Daddy. I guess Brad is Shiloh’s favorite parent now, It is nice to see the inter-action between the family.

    Just finished reading that interview..

And it was very well done. I was surprised she talked in such detail. The cast/crew who have been interviewed have all said such great things about her.. Funny you will not see those statements on sites like HP or CB… they are only interested in the negative. THEY never post the positive things that are said about this couple. JUST the stupid rumors and such. 99% of them are proven LIES.. those sited NEVER go back and correct that crap.

regarding the JPs and where they maybe.. well as they say.. When you are with the people you love then you are at home..

So the Jolie-Pitts are home.. regardless of the destination. (but the loon in me wants to know.. :)

I thik so too! I noticed when she was interviewed by Christiane Amanpour about Haiti, she wasn’t made up much at all, and looked fantastic. The pictures from The Tourist shows she is heavily made up. I guess it’s necessary for the bright lights of the movie cameras.

4Q, thanks for the link. That is a very comprehensive and fascinating intervew. Angie is awesome. It sounds like an interesting movie, can’t wait to see the complete output. I like the part where the actors and crew said how nice and easy she is to work with contrary to the lies the tabloids/paps spin and haters suck it all up. Brad talks about that softer side of her too that people don’t get to see like he does.. I wish her the best and the movie a huge success.

Great interview with the Hungarian reporter.
Noticed the reported didn’t have to ask any questions about the kids or brad or how they were adjusting to Budapest blah blah blah. Just stuck to the substance – what is the movie about, how did you shoot it etc..
Sounds like Angelina might have been bitten by the screen play/ directing bug. I can imagine that the more she talked to Brad about the movie, how she saw the various scenes play out in her mind’s eye, the more it became obvious that she had a very clear idea how she want to movie done. I can also imagine Brad saying, that’s great. Go for it! – as supportive partners will do.

    Interview: Amanda Wakely, designer

    Published Date: 22 November 2010
    By Alice Wyllie
For me, the definition of glamour is a very broad one,” says Amanda Wakeley, peering at me over the rim of a cup of green tea. Those looking for a more specific definition however need look no further than the 48-year-old fashion designer herself, or indeed her collections, which are famous for their understated glamour.
t’s a goal that may be considered too commercial for many designers, but it attracts women of varying ages and sizes in their droves. In two decades, Wakeley has dressed the likes of Princess Diana (“she had a slightly wicked sense of humour and they were very happy times”) to Angelina Jolie (“a dream to dress”) in her signature high gloss style. However it is working with ordinary women which gives her the biggest thrill.

    Lower 9th Ward Video
Posted on November 21, 2010 by OC

Two years ago when I chaperoned a previous immersion trip to New Orleans, the Lower Ninth Ward resembled a desolate and dry land cracked by the sun’s heat. Imagining a thriving community there proved challenging. Only a few water beaten homes remained teetering on their concrete foundations. We only heard talk of Brad Pritt coming to build the homes as we nodded our heads with approval and skepticism. Now, new buildings foretell a long awaited rebirth. Pitt made good on a promise.

Seeing such new and uniquely designed homes rise from such devastation, erased the previous skepticism and kindled hope. There’s so much more rebuilding to do. All the new homes use green technology.

Calm down Botox Troll. Papa Pitt rules

    The Tourist (Dec. 10)
Nobody’s denying that Brad Pitt’s a goodlooking guy. But let’s be honest: The most beautiful couple in the world is actually Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp. Yes, for one brief, shining moment, that fantasy will become reality, as his apparently innocent tourist is seduced by her clearly sneaky femme fatale.
Bottom line: The director, Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck, won an Oscar for his last film, “The Lives of Others.” Jolie and Depp spend most of their time zipping through Venetian canals and fl irting in five-star hotel rooms. How do you say “sure thing” in Italian?

The filming process of Untitled Love Story, directed by Angelina Jolie, has been wrapped up in Budapest, as the crew celebrated the occasion at a rock gig by Branko Djuric and his band Bombaj stampa. Djuric, an actor and musician of Bosnian origin, appears in the film and at the wrap-up party his band promoted their latest album.

Although Djuric has become a close acquaintance of Jolie’s, she missed the party, and will also not be coming to Bosnia and Herzegovina, where the second unit crew have shot just a few final shots of Angelina’s directorial debut.

    - “Look what Angelina has done to me here in Budapest – I’ve gained weight because of her!” Djuric said jokingly and said a few words about his experience of working with the Hollywood star.

    - “I’m glad to have been part of her cast. She has been a pleasant surprise. I’d expected Angelina to be spoilt, which would have been quite expected from a Hollywood star. She is, however, very different than that. She is a big workaholic and a down-to-earth person.

She is persistent and precise and knows what she wants. Angelina, Brad and the entire family – they are really great people,” said Djuric and added he was most delighted to find out how informed and educated Angelina was.

Old news but may be the next film. Maybe!!!!

Brad Pitt will play a mobster in the comedic crime story Cogan’s Trade, a project that reteams him with Andrew Dominik, his director of The Assassination of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford.

Pitt’s character, Jackie Cogan, is a professional enforcer who investigates a heist that takes place during a high stakes poker game under protection of the mob.

Sources say Dominik is seeking to reunite some of his Jesse James actors for the independently financed ensemble movie, including Sam Rockwell and Casey Affleck. Also on the list are Mark Ruffalo and Javier Bardem.

Since it’s quiet here, I am bringing something interesting from JJB (again. Just to piss off my stalker). Very cute article in a Slovenian magazine with pictures.

“Brad’s very charming and a true sunshine, while Angie’s so warm, sweet and simple”, says Tanja. Đuro and Tanja are working hard to keep the family together, so when Đuro films, she and the daughters often visit him on set. Unfortunately, she could only visit him once while he was filming in Budapest and took her older daughter, Zala (14)with her.

Angelina thought Zala was beautiful and liked her immediately so she asked her if she wanted to be a part of the movie. Zala of course agreed and travelled to Budapest again to film the scene (Zala played some small roles in Slovenian movies and lent her voice to some Disney synchronized characters. Her goal is to study film direction).
We mentioned the rumors claiming that Angelina was jealous of her daughter Shiloh and would often neglect her children. Tanja says it’s absolutely ridiculous. “She couldn’t take better care of her kids! She loves them so much, she can’t bear to be without them. They’re always around her. For Halloween, they all, along with Brad, dressed up and surprised the film crew in the hotel. The kids have a normal, healthy life, they are very much loved. Angie is extremely caring when it comes to the kids, she even brought my daughter, Zala, a blanket so she wouldn’t be cold while directing and a chair so she wouldn’t have to stand. Between every scene, she’s carrying at least two kids around. The kids are very well behaved.”

Tanja says she didn’t want to be interruptive during her visit on set, but Angie surprised her when she approached Tanja herself. “She’s nice to be around. She invited us to Paris.”

She also tells us Angie was sorry she couldn’t meet Tanja’s younger daugher Ela (5). Angie invited Zala to the museum tour with her 4 older kids. Zala was greatly enthusiasted by everyone, especially Zahara who she says is very special. Twins did not go since they’re too young. Tanja says each of the kids is special:”Maddox is a little Buda, Pax is like Ela – spends more time on the roof than on the floor. Shiloh is a tomboy, resembles Brad, but has her mommy’s lips and nose.” She was proud of Zala for speaking fluent english with the kids.
