This looks good, and it looks like it has a great cast, but the directior (who directed the first Twilight movie) makes it seem a little too much like twilight with the big landscape shots and everything.

  • AVG

That looks like twilight w all the trees…i dunno…maybe could be good

  • maria

Not sure why this girl gets all these starring roles yet. She seems to have one look onscreen- deer in the headlights. She opens up those too big eyes, and just gawks, and everyone thinks it’s acting. I don’t feel anything real about her acting yet. Yes, she’s a work-in -progress. I know one thing……I am totally sick of seeing her EVERYWHERE. She’s WAY over exposed to the point I want to scream if I see another Amanda Seyfriend movie, magazine cover, or article on her. Enough already.

  • melissa b

    looks good actually

  • Claudy

Okay, I never liked her movies…everytime when I saw them I was disappointed…but this trailer looks AWESOME!!! I just hope it’s not like Hereafter…the Trailer is top the movie is FLOP!

  • Pattycake

Red Riding Hood has been changed into a movie about werewolves?!? Just, no.

  • Samm

looks sweet! Cannot wait! I love Amanda Seyfried!

  • JC

A creepy Gary Oldman might be the only thing that makes this stupid looking movie watchable.

  • Allie

How do you take a fairytale about going to your grandmother’s house and a wolf trying to eat you to this? I see the title Little Red Riding Hood and think it’s going to be something like Ella Enchanted. So much for taking the kids to see this one…

  • Channy

looks pretty sex’ed up for a story I listened to as a child :( so many shots in this preview at them kissing and in between her legs

  • Channy

*preview had them kissing and with him in between her legs

  • elisha

Looks like another sequel of Twilight or a spin-off to me.

Werewolf, love between a cute girl and a mysterious guy, wide landscape…
And the only thing that relate this movie to The Red Riding Hood is the one Seyfried is wearing all along the movie, without it it’s just another movie about werewolves.

I expected something more magical, but trailers might be confusing sometimes so i’ll give it a shot.

  • sunny

This actually looks pretty good. I think it’s just the music and scenery though that is totally appealing. I’d watch on DVD.

  • marq

I have read how Amanda Seyfried’s acting chops seem to increase exponentially from film to film. Maybe so, maybe so….

  • rocky

um did they just give it away? isn’t it obvious that she is the wolf?

  • Jokergurl

Looks like Twilight, although Gary Oldman’s in it, so who know it could be good.

  • pinkie

I don’t know about the quality of this movie…. But that Shiloh Fernandez is sexy (and I don’t say that about many). That’s all I could perceive watching the trailer.

  • Vincent

doesn’t this remind anyone of the movie “The Village” by M. Night Shamalan?

  • Helen

reminds me of “the village” a bit

  • http://supernaturlisch.tumblr.com Emma B.

Actually, I kind of like the idea of turning it into a werewolf story. It doesn’t seem like any regular girl-falls-in-love-with-a-supernatural-creature story, and I like that.

    Can’t wait to see it!

  • N

Haha, yeah you can tell she made Twilight watching this trailer. I guess that’s just her style. Some parts intrigue me but I’m a little worried about the quality (effects, etc) It doesn’t look very high budget which I think is a part of what let Twilight down.

  • Rdizzie

what is the name of the song in the last half of the trailer?

  • GreenCAT

    It doesn’t look that good.

  • envelope

I hear all this word abotu Amanda being this fantastic actress but I call bullocks. having seen Chloe you can tell shes not that great. Specializing in wide eyed looks and mouth pouting.

@Allie: This trailer doesn’t appear to relate to the children’s tale that we were brought up on, but according to history, the tale of Little Red Riding Hood has not always been like the one in fairy tale books. In fact, as early as the 14th century, the tale was an oral tradition told by peasants where the antagonist was a bzou (modernly known as a werewolf). Apparently, werewolves were just as feared as witches in that time, and people were actually put on werewolf-trials (like the witch trials). In the original stories, the bzou even tricks the girl into his bed where she sees through his disguise. So, you could actually argue that this trailer fits history with the werewolves and sex… because in essence, most fairy tales wouldn’t be appropriate for kids if the original story behind them were known.

@Terri: yo, Cathreen Hardwick, thanks for clearing that up! LOL! Your film still sucks though & be ready to see it flop!

  • Blah

I think it looks like a good film. Any romance story these days gets compared to Twilight and this one especially because of Catherine Hardwicke. I see similarities in the cinematography and some words, but already you can tell it will be a darker story, more adult and well…a different story.

  • Cristobal

This looks entertaining however I am tired of Hollywood remaking stuff. Are they not able to think of anything new anymore? Geesh.

  • me me me

geez, what is this? twilight with werewolfs? because it certainly looks like twilight, and that fatal romance ‘i love but i’m not good for you’ thing is getting sooo old. no way in hell i’d ever watch this.

  • AJ

Watching this trailer reminded me of Twilight. If you notice the kiss scenes, the forests, the cheesy slow dialogue, the female protagonist whose back is turned to the guy during a shock scene…all I see is Twilight everywhere. The directore seemed nice, but I would’ve wanted to watch this if she didn’t make too many Twilight links, because I hate that franchise so much.

  • hmmm

It looks pretty stupid to me. Definitely a no go for me. Given the fact that Dicaprio is one of the producers I expected more. It looks lame.

  • marq

@envelope: I collect Little Red Riding Hood movies. So that is reason enough to appreciate this flick for me. Except that I also collect Amanda Seyfried movies. I found Chloe swarthy, but sensual, yet ultimately still a tragedy. By “bullocks”, perhaps you were tending towards Sandra, who takes safe roles, conventional roles, ever-conscious of concealing her skin, hence somehow her “reputation”. Amanda Seyfried is malleable across myriad genres, she can stretch as an actress. Couldn’t tell you if this is a lycanthrope story, haven’t seen it yet. But I can tell you that Amanda Seyfried’s acting works for me.

  • Aylin

The ending of the trailer suggested an interesting twist to the story. If that’s right it wont resemble Twilight to much.

  • jaydee

@Pattycake: red riding hood has a wolf in it…

  • http://www.citizette.com Citizette.com

    This looks amazing.

  • Ann

    @Allie:

Well not every movie is for “the kids”
I, for one, am happy you and yours will not be attending the theater….
children and clean, quiet, interesting venues Do. Not. Mix.

Take them to Romper Room instead.

  • Ann

And by the by, Anyone comparing this film to Twilight….is a moron. Read the book, Watch the tragedy that is the Fanchise, and learn a thing or two.
It’s narrow minded to assume that because the director has her name attatched to both….they’re going be identical. I saw little that resembled “Twilight”

Every movie with a wolf in it now will be compared, i suppose.
    People are pathetic

  • http://twitter.com/its_veronica Veronica

I think it looks good. I would want to see it. I like the take on the tale. I think Catherine Hardwicke did a good job no matter what some people have been saying. If you see too much twilight it’s probably because that is Hardwicke’s directing style. It’s not exclusive to Twilight.

  • anna

you lost me at “from the director of twilight”

  • B Fan

This girl did and showed all her parts already. Cloe was the movie. She knows how to become a star. Sharon Stone aint got nothing on this little HOE,SKANK,DIRTY and NASTY girl :)

  • Tiff

Mk did they recycle the panned out tree shots and sets from Twilight or what? I like Amanda Seyfried a lot but this is just too Twilight-ish for me, they make it seem like ‘she’s in love with someone who might kill her..” sounds familiar… but I can’t figure out from which over rated, over exposed franchise that could be from…? I’ve like Oldman since I saw
    ‘The Professional’ though… :)

  • keithtomas

red the 1st draft revision script of red riding hood! man, gotta say it is awesome and well written.. i’m sure they edit it to make the final draft revision darker, cooler, more thrilling, gripping with more twists! damn, my 3 suspects weren’t even the suspects! DAMMIT! and “love triangle” isn’t the focus (the wolf is), it didn’t even shine nor ate space on the script! which is a relief! not so twilight-y at all! and they stick to the original fairytale: adult, dark, and gruesome!

i believe gary oldman will rock as father solomon and julie christie as the grandmother. i’m keeping my faith on amanda seyfried, if she could pull all the scenes well – then i bet this will be a hit!

  • keithtomas

@Channy: original fairytale are actually written for adults not for kids. and it’s dark, gruesome, and sexual in origin and nature. LRRH is one of the darkest fairytale written with one of its interpretations is sexual awakening, and it has lots of symbolism in it. the color of the red cape, the wolf, the grandmother, etc. has all its corresponding meaning. so i guess you now know that the fairytale you knew as a kid is the “disney” version. go read the original tale you want proof or do some research about it.

  • keithtomas

@rocky: no she isn’t if you red the script. might be surprise it has a lot of twist taht you can never guess who the wolf is.

  • CRB

Okay I don’t know why everyone is complaining that this won’t be a kid friendly movie. Have you people actually read Little Red Riding Hood? The grandma gets eaten and then the wolf gets chopped to bits. Yes. That’s soo kid friendly right there. So what? Personally I think it looks promising. I hated Twilight simply because of all the awkward moments the whole movie seemed comprised of, but this doesn’t look like it will be so bad. Then again, you can’t always judge a movie by it’s trailer.

  • brown_eyed_chica

i think it looks very interesting. i am for sure goin to watch this movie wen it comes out. i love romance and supernatural stuff! :)

  • brown_eyed_chica

looks cool. will for sure watch it!

  • Harvard

LOOKS INTERESTING & VERY KOOL. CANT WAIT TIL MARCH

  • larry

    @maria:

Amanda Seyfried gets all the parts because people like her. I like her. We do not appreciate punks insulting her in any way.
