OlderGerard Butler: Feeling the 'Afterburn'?
Gerard Butler may soon be teaming up with Tobey Maguire for the upcoming film Afterburn!
The 41-year-old Scottish stud has been in talks to star in the sci-fi adventure, with Tobey stepping behind the camera to produce, according to Variety.
Synopsis for the film, which will be based on Red 5 Comics’ graphic novels: It’s postapocalyptic Earth whose Eastern Hemisphere was destroyed by a massive solar flare. Treasure hunters aim to extract items such as the Mona Lisa amid competition from rival hunters, mutants, and pirates.
Training Day director Antoine Fuqua is in negotiations to direct the flick.

2 horrible screenwriters + horrible producer (Moritz) + no longer bankable actor (Butler) + director who’s not directed a good film in almost a decade + comic book no one has ever heard of = BOMB

P.S. Anyone else getting tired of Neal Moritz producing movies under a company called “Original Film”, when absolutely NOTHING he does is original AT ALL? It’s all adaptations, sequels, prequels, and spin-offs. He should consider a production company name change. Seriously.

I read a review of the comics/graphic novel online…It sounds as if it woulod make a great adventure film. After the sun gives a heatflash to burn half of the earth, a group of adventurers/survivors go after all of the treaures of the world …the Mona Lisa, The Thinker, etc. to sell to thehighest bider. Anythihg Gerard is in I’ll see. No one looks good in those awful “hats”…on the fhomepaage of JJ…it shows Brad P. in a similar one. HJowver, Gerard looks handsome in spite of it!
I’m sure Butler is used to feeling the afterburn and has a standing prescription for penecillin.
Oh bugger this nonsense. This film sounds like ultimate trash. I agree with meh. If Butler doesn’t start doing some seriously GOOD films, his acting credibility will be gone for good. Maybe it already is.
