Claire Danes Going 'Home' for Showtime Series!

Claire Danes will star in Homeland, a new psychological thriller series for Showtime, according to Deadline.

Homeland is about a CIA case officer (Danes) who receives a tip that a former American prisoner of war has turned on the country and is leading the next big strike against the American homeland.

The series will cover the officer’s efforts to expose the POW and uncover the truth.

Claire has not starred in a television series since My So-Called Life more than 15 years ago!

Sounds like a load of c.r.a.p. to me, but then again, today’s tv series are not worth a penny or a minute of my time.

@laverdadduele: It’s on Showtime. There’s about an 90% that it will be good.

SHOWTIME and HBO are leaders of original programming that is FAR…I mean FAR better than anything on comercial TV.

From DEXTER, TUDORS, The Big C, Californication on —SHOWTIME

To HBO which is THE originator of series from the very beginning in 90′s DREam ON….LARRY SANDERS AND FIRST AND TEN…then emerging into mid 90′s OZ, Sopranos, Deadwood Sex and City…and NOW
TRUE BLOOD, Curb your enthusiam, etc…

Actors LONG to be on cable with better writing and rich ..deep characters…please!

The concept sounds cool and claire danes is severely underused.Plus like someone said….if its on Showtime, it’ll prolly be good!

Claire Danes has depth. I’d rather see her than Evan Rachel Wood who makes True Blood come to halt when she’s on camera.

Danes won awards recently for her outstanding portrayl of Temple Grandin. She transformed herself and was quite convincing in her role about autism.

MySoCalledLife got cancelled by ABC far too quickly before picking up speed and finding a strong audience base. Commercial networks have no time or patience to let shows do that… cable is perfect outlet where quality is king.

I will check it out because SHOWTIME will give her and writers creative freedom the other stifling nets could not.

Good luck to her!
