Matthew Morrison: Shirtless 'Details' Cover Man!
Matthew Morrison flaunts his sexy six pack abs on the December 2010 cover of Details magazine, captured by photog Norman Jean Roy on September 25 in Malibu, Calif. Here are some highlights from the mag’s interview:
On being a player: ‘There was so much opportunity. There were all these beautiful, beautiful dancers. As a straight guy I had some room. There were the shared interests in singing and dancing, and I always find dancing with someone very evocative and sexual. I definitely hooked up with a lot of girls when I was a young guy on Broadway. It was exciting. Very joyous and free.” But Matthew didn’t shed his inhibitions entirely. He joined a Bible-study group in college, and he didn’t lose his virginity until he was 21.
On being a sex symbol: “I’m not comfortable with the idea of my sex appeal, but I know in my job I have to use it. I wish I could say I got to this point in my career based on my talent, but I don’t think that’s true.”
On wishing some of his Glee co-stars were a little less publicity-driven: “I am a teacher to them,” Matthew says of the younger castmates he refers to as “the kids.” “I’ve taken a few under my wing. I don’t want to say they idolize me, but… I find myself learning a lot from the set. I do look at stuff people on the show are doing, and I don’t judge them, but I question it. I say to myself, ‘Keep quiet.’ Fame … it’s like a handgun – in the wrong hands, it’s dangerous.”
On dating: “I’m not a good friend right now. I’m not a good boyfriend. It’s not that I’m selfish. I’m just focused.”
FYI: To get into tip-top shape for this photo shoot, Matthew ate well and in the final few days used a trick Sue Sylvester pushed on her cheerleading squad — a sweet potato-only diet.
