Ryan Seacrest is 'Dead' But Has 3 More Years on Radio

Ryan Seacrest‘s digital death is captured in this new coffin shot before World AIDS Day on Wednesday (December 1).

The 35-year-old TV and radio personality is just one of many celebs to give up Twitter and other social media sites until $1 million is raised in support of Keep A Child Alive.

VIDEO: Celebs Die Digitally on December 1

Earlier today, it was announced that Ryan has inked a 3-year deal to continue hosting his morning show, On Air with Ryan Seacrest and American Top 40 – he’ll also serve as a spokesperson for Clear Channel and get a salary bump!

FYI: P. Diddy will also be “digitally dying” tomorrow as part of the campaign.

So basically this whole campaign is to garner money from fans through guilt. What the celebrities are saying is either you donate money or we won’t communicate with you. Yeah that is a great way to get people to truly care about the cause.

To quote Stephen Colbert: “let’s just stop at $999,999.99 & then we’ll have the best of both worlds!”

the amount to take those photographs probably already exceeded 1 million

Those adds might attract bad luck for these celebrities. I wouldn’t do an add that says I’m dead while I lay in a coffin. Just saying.

I find this entire ad campaign extremely distasteful.

James Dean took a similar picture in 1955.

Really? This tool spends a ridiculous amount of money traveling around the world with his little girlfriend and other trivialities, yet he expect us to take him seriously and give from our money? It would be so easy for him to write a check for one million or even a bigger amount, but that wouldn’t attract much attention, would it, Ryan? As far as I’m concerned you and the other stupid celebrities can disappear from the face of earth and I wouldn’t give a damn. Self-absorbed pigs.

worst.campaign.ever. disgusting self-promotion under the guise of charity. who cares if they never tweet again?! i hope they stay “dead”.

Thumb up Thumb down +7

I’m sorry but this is stupid…the fact that these celebs are no longer tweeting is a good thing…I wouldn’t pay money to get them to start up again…they couldn’t think of some more productive way to raise money…this is so self-serving and self-centered like they are so much loved and missed on twitter that fans will send a lot of money to get them to tweet again..bake some cookies and raise money that way…write a poem or letter and sell on ebay…something else besides this drivel..

Common sense @ 11/30/2010 at 6:36 pm

Thumb up Thumb down +6

Couldn’t they just get together and donate the money themselves. Surely that would be less hassle, rather spending more money shooting/promoting these ad campaigns.

Thumb up Thumb down +3

If any of these actors were really dead they’d probably be a little offended by the stupidity of this. You can raise money for charity without posing in a coffin, that’s just creepy. And, I think Stephen Colbert may just be on to something.

Thumb up Thumb down +3

Soo, last time I checked, all the celebs who are “dead” could probably donate $1 million each and actually help people out. Also, these celebs should hope that these pictures don’t jinx them…pretty bad idea if you ask me.

Thumb up Thumb down +3

Sorry but this doesn’t really raise awareness, it’s quite disturbing and very distasteful……

Effing ridiculous! Do you know how many people Clear Channel Radio has laid off over the past three years?! A butt load of those people were replaced with this horrid On-Air Ryan Seacrest radio show. It has no locality or charm to it. You know how many radio DJs you could hire at a starting salary for what this clown is making? 2,307. That’s 2,307 peoples livelihoods that this stupid company and Ryan Seacrest took away. I hope the Mays brothers can sleep at night.

Thumb up Thumb down +3

These folks do not seem to realize that their ads only glamorize death, not caution it. But then, we must remember they are only doing for self-promotion…

Thumb up Thumb down -5

I saw that picture of ryan and I was like NOOOO!!! I <3 ryan!!! BUT i SAW HIM on e! news so i was okay. but its a smart promo.

Thumb up Thumb down +2

Supposedly he is going to get $60 million dollars with his new deal. Is he even worth that kind of money? Donating a million or two of that would probably not even be a blip on his radar.

Jokergurl @ 12/01/2010 at 3:26 am

Thumb up Thumb down +2

He looks a little plastic here. Tasteless ad campaign.

Thumb up Thumb down +4

This so-called celebrities make millions of dollars. Why dont they donate the money they have?!?! They have more to go around. We are the people struggling but they seem to want our dollars to go for good and they just want their face on it so they can get all the recognition. Sorry! I could care less if we never hear you guys tweet again!

Thumb up Thumb down 0

he is the only one that looks dead.

Thumb up Thumb down 0

well hello he died of unprotected LOVE with all those guys, duh
