Hilary Duff leans forward to chat with elementary schoolers on Thursday (December 2) as she brings Blessings in a Backpack to their school in south central Los Angeles.
The 24-year-old actress is a huge supporter of the organization, which feeds elementary school students throughout the school year.
“Just visited my blessings in a backpack school!” Hil tweeted. “Those kids are so smart and touch my life in a huge way!”

Great seeing Hilary today at our school. She always supports our 1100 students. She is so beautiful and our students really enjoyed having her at Normandie. THANKS HILARY!!!

I think Hilary Duff is an underrate celebrity in Hollywood. She is pretty charitable and I think she’s a good actress as well.

I like the fact that she did not wear her million dollar wedding ring to this event. I always think it is easier to relate to someone in a charity situation when they aren’t flaunting (intentionally or not) their wealth in your face. Accepting charity has a lot to do with swallowing your pride and its easier to do that with someone who is down to earth like Hilary.
