Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Share a Memorable Meal in Paris

    By Peter Mikelbank

    Friday December 03, 2010 10:15 AM EST

Nothing like a nice, romantic break, especially in the City of Love.

Amid a week of tandem promotional tours through Paris for her The Tourist and his Megamind, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie turned up for dinner Thursday evening at one of the world’s best eateries – Restaurant Guy Savoy, on the Rue Troyon – and stayed till nearly midnight to close the place.

The restaurant came highly praised, by none other than Jolie’s Changeling director. “They came, they said, because Clint Eastwood recommended the restaurant to her. He told her they’d enjoy themselves,” the legendary three-Michelin star chef, Guy Savoy, tells PEOPLE.

“Brad was very interested in the style of cuisine and very knowledgeable,” says Savoy, 53. “And I have to say that I took one look at her and I complimented him on his good taste. She is most beautiful in person.”

After a champagne toast, the couple’s meal began with soft-boiled eggs infused with truffles, followed by an artichoke soup with a glass of white wine.

For main dishes, “she took a lobster dish, and he ordered a cote de veau, with mashed potatoes seasoned with truffles.” Their wine accompaniment was a Bordeaux: a Paulliac from Chateau Lynch Bages.

“During a break, Brad visited in the kitchen,” says Savoy. There, the actor and the chef, in Savoy’s words, “hammered together” a conversation in English and French. Savoy says Pitt’s French is “surprisingly good.”

For dessert, the chef says, both chose a selection of cheeses. “Typically French,” Savoy says with a laugh.

Brad will be 47 this December you idiot, not 27. Since you are not a fan, Brad plays a character who lives in the 50s’ in this movie.

    That’s a damn hot 46 year old.

The image above and one below are two new images from Terrence Malick‘s long-awaited The Tree of Life, the trailer for which will be running in front of prints of Black Swan starting tomorrow. (Or tonight, if you’ve got midnight showings in your area.) If you’ve been keeping track, that makes a bare handful of images released over the past couple of years that we’ve been waiting for the film to be finished and hit theaters. Yes, we’ll see the trailer shortly, but in the meantime we’ll take what we can get. The debut of new material from Terrence Malick is an event.

Check out the other image below, along with some information about the trailer to tide you over until the online version arrives.

The LA Times has the images and info, and says that “judging by the small amount of footage we saw today, Malick has created a mystical, rich and satisfying film.” That’s a massive assumption of course, and the paper has a reservation or two, but overall the impression seems to be that the trailer plays well, and I’ll take that for now.

Mega cast turn hero genre on its ear
    December 3, 2010

With Brad Pitt, too, McGrath would adopt an unconventional approach. He likes to use a rock ‘n’ roll analogy when describing the two characters at the heart of the film, Megamind and Metro Man.

“Brad’s character is Elvis Presley compared to Will’s, who is more like Alice Cooper,” he smiles.

And when Pitt came into the recording booth, at first the actor struggled to let loose. But then they came up with a very rock star idea that unlocked the character.

“It’s great when you get the actors into a physical place,” says McGrath. “And with Brad his character, Metro Man, is more like Elvis. When he first arrived it felt like he wasn’t getting it and he had to stand behind this mic in a booth.

“And then we decided to try it with a hand-held mic and we got it and he grabbed that and started walking around the studio, doing his lines, and he really got into it because you can be physical in that way. And for him that was the key.

“There is something about an actor moving around when they are doing the character and it’s how their voice, their presence, their timing, is affected by it. And each actor has their own way of approaching it.”

Pitt was starring alongside established comedic actors and he more than held his own.

“Brad has a great voice and he is very funny,” he says. “We knew we wanted comedians because that’s how we like to work – work-shopping the story, as opposed to live action where you develop a script for several years and then you shoot. We’re shooting and developing the script at the same time, so for me it’s really relying on Will and Tina and what they bring to it with their improvisation, and also Brad.

“In fact, Brad was really great. We pitched the idea of playing this hero to him and he just had a lot of fun with it and brought a lot to it.”

Brad sure is looking hot! He looks much, much better without the beard.

Brad Pitt is a beautiful man.

  • Well

Honestly we know too much personal info about brad Pitt and that hurts hurts his films. In every movie he’s just that dude that dated famous chicks, cheated on his wife , ran off with his mistress and now he has six kids he totes around the globe. It’s all too much info. Thats why I think Leo is such a good actor because we don’t know all of his business in real life.

  • Observer2

    Well @ 12/03/2010 at 1:26 pm

Wow, since he left FT, his movies have made over 2B dollars WW. Whew, that sucks, for you. LOL.

    Great actor.

@Well: Oh please, get a grip and go make comments on Leo’s site.

Don’t forget that Brad has received more recognitions & positive reviews in this past 5 years than the 5 years when he was with that useless superficial rough leather face.

  • Lurker

Well, I think all the producers who want to work with both Brad and Angie would disagree with you. In case you haven’t noticed, they are in high demand. In fact, Angie’s latest director said: EVERY SCRIPT is sent to Angie. Therefore, other actors and actresses are getting roles because A) A scheduling conflict which will not permit them to do those films or B) they don’t like the scripts.

To put it bluntly, your opinion doesn’t matter here. Go to Leo’s thread if you can find one.

  • mervyn

I never use this term but just for the name changing paid troll prostit*tes this one is you………..
    That is one handsome dude.

  • Observer2

    Media Wh@re MANiston @ 12/03/2010 at 1:38 pm

Not forgetting that either. And also remember that Brad gets to see scripts first. Problem is, that studios can’t get Brad to churn out movie after movie. He’s more selective than most.

Let’s see, there was Babel, TCOBB, TAOJJ and IB that all received awards recognition. That’s 4 movies in 6 years. It’s quality over quantity and TOL will probably be another.

Yep, most people would love to have a career that was in such a nosedive. LMAO!

Trolls, damn, they sleep stupid, are awake with stupid, drink and eat stupid. Stupid is their best friend. Keeps them warm and snuggly at night. I do wonder how some of them don’t hurt themselves tying their own shoes, IF, they’re even able to do that much.

If Brad is not good looking and not a good actor, his career wouldn’t have lasted this long. His career is getting hotter and he is toooooooo.

The only actor I know who’s career is at Brad’s level is JD. Right now, there are no other actor who’s at their level.

    I LOVE U BRAD!!!!!!!!

I’m really anticipating seeing this one. Pitt has had a relatively long Hollywood career and can have an even longer one if he wants to stay in the game. The diverse roles he’s chosen over the years has allowed him to be offered a variety of plum roles and he has taken advantage of them to pick and choose his films. I honestly don’t think there is a role he couldn’t play if he had the mind set.
The other cool thing is that his Production company is not merely for show; there are some very good films coming out of it and are to come. Being versatile in any field allows you to have access in a way that those who choose to be a ‘one trick pony’ don’t have and never will. The role of Producer further extends that access. Pitt, like Jolie, is very smart. I don’t think there’s a move he makes without careful thought and preparation.
Pitt is set to continue his involvement in Hollywood even if he decides some day to retire from acting. The beauty of it is that because of his success, he has choices regarding IF he wants to be involved and how much he wants to be involved. Clearly, he and Jolie aren’t looking at just today or waiting for things to happen; they are making them happen and preparing for the future.
This movie really has me excited to see another facet of Pitt in this role as a Father. This role on the surface might not seem difficult given that Pitt is a Father 6 times over. But it will be interesting to hear him discuss the filming and what emotions it might have brought up relative to his real life role as a Father. Also, you know they will ask how the Father in this Film differs or is like the Father he is to his own children. I very much look forward to the interviews that will precede the release of this film as well as the film itself.

Looks like another critical acclaims film for Brad.
