Andrew Garfield & Justin Timberlake: 'Social Network' Screening

Andrew Garfield and Justin Timberlake attend a special screening of their film The Social Network at the ArcLight Cinema on Thursday (December 2) in Hollywood, Calif.

On Wednesday (December 1), Justin was injured while performing a stunt for his new movie Now, but was back to work the next day.

The Social Network‘s Oscar chances are looking to be much stronger after it swept the National Board of Review’s accolades with Best Picture, Best Actor (Jesse Eisenberg), Best Director (David Fincher) and Best Adapted Screenplay.

FYI: Andrew wore a Rag and Bone flannel buttondown a over Shipley & Halmos shirt. He finished off his look with Levi’s cords.

Ok i’m not a hater but i’m gonna be real honest. I’ve seen the movie and i don’t get it, what’s so special about it? It’s not as dark or great as some say it is. I can think of a million other movies better than this one and that NEVER had “Oscars Buzz” this is just lame. Also, lol everyone speculating about Timberlake having an Oscar nomination, when she only appeared for like 4 scenes during the entire film, he sure as hell isn’t the reason the movie is getting all this talk.

The social net work is one of the best films of the year! Wish Andrew will get an Oscar Nomination.

  • anna

why is Andrew Garfield dressed like a christmas tree?

  • jean

@yo sista: I totally agree! I’m not saying it’s a bad film, iy’d just an OK film; Inception for example was mind blowing! And if Timberlake gets a nmination then there’s sth wrong with the Universe!!! Andrew was INCREADIBLE!!!!!!

Love David Fincher.. The man deserves to finally win an Oscar..

but I don’t get the whole The Social Network being this outstanding film.. I feel the same about Inception and Avatar.. not the best stories.. Visually wonderful but I don’t see the hype around these films..

Somebody really needs to tell Justin to take off those glasses.. It is just a prop for him.. the same with Ashton and Demi. He looks ridiculous in them and they are only adding to his look of desperation.

I can name many many actors that have had amazing careers that never got an OSCAR.. and others that got one because of circumstance nothing more. If Justin wants to continue this “acting” thing then he needs to just work. and try and get better.. HE needs that work badly.

    @jean: Totally AGREE!!!

Timberlake wants an Oscar nod but Rush,Bale,Damon,Ruffalo,Hawkes and Garfield will be against him(and they deserve it)

Social Network is a very well-made movie(technically brilliant and a clever script) but i never empathized with the characters

Justin Timberlake tries too hard. Andrew Garfield and Armie Hammer were better than him, anyway.

diego boneta was at that screening and they answered one of his questions, i saw it on twitter

  • Crista

@caro: If Timberlake gets nominated instead of Andrew (or instead the other actor you mentioned that actually deserve it) the Oscars will have as much credibility in my eyes as say The People’s Choice Awards.

Andrew is hot! Justin is not.

what a odd group of comments … The Social Network is by far the best movie i have seen in 2010 and i watch a lot of movies. Everyone is talking about Timberlake who is an average actor at best. Eisenburg can act circles around Timberlake and Garfield combined and has a very strong performance in this film.

All the people saying “i don’t understand why this movie is getting oscar buzz” … you said it … you don’t understand. Maybe you’ll get lucky and Paris Hilton will make a movie you’ll understand.

Watch out. Justin wore his “smart glasses” again :) What’s wrong with that idiot? Can’t he see how ridiculous he looks? And when he wore those glasses for the 100 time everyone started to notice. And laugh. Did anyone already asked him why he wears them only on Social Network event. Never on the other.

The Social Network is a very well written, well made film. It has been overhyped and that is causing the “it’s only okay” sentiment. It’s one of the best films of the year. Not THE best, but one of the best for sure. This whole campaign to get Justin Timberlake an Oscar nomination is ridiculous. The film succeeds on the performances of Eisenberg and Garfield. Behind them Armie Hammer deserves recognition for having to play two characters and doing really, really well, giving each twin an inner life and a distinct and different set of characteristics.
Justin Tim berlake was playing Justin Timberlake…just with brilliant words by Aaron Sorkin in place of what nonsense Justin normal spews. He is not worthy of any award recognition. The thought of him being nominated over Andrew Garfield is laughable. Him in a category with the likes of Geoffrey Rush, Christian Bale and Mark Ruffalo is absurd.

@w11: Look at the group of haters that came to play. Who cares if the academy nominates justin for an award. Your opinion doesn`t matter more than ones of the people awarding him.
