Betty White: Botticelli's Venus for Emmy Magazine
Betty White channels Botticelli‘s Venus as she and her Hot in Cleveland castmates grace the cover of Emmy magazine’s Issue #7, on newsstands now!
Here’s what the 88-year-old comedy star had to share:
On how she became involved: “We did the pilot, and three weeks later it got picked up for ten shows. I never saw a quicker turnaround in my life. They asked if I would do some more, and I explained that wasn’t our deal. They kept going, ‘What if you only had to work three days…’ what if this, what if that. They made so many concessions that I was embarrassed to keep saying no.”
Wendie Malick, on the cast’s combined background in comedy: “I think there’s 167 years of TV comedy between us. The fact that the four of us found ourselves in this wonderful surprise hit on this low-profile channel is a great reminder that women are still interesting, and maybe more so as they get older. I love to say there’s no expiration date on being fabulous – look at Betty!”
