    Really?? Comedy? Musical?

  • an oldie

    Angelina and Johnny Depp were superb in The Tourist.

  • oioioi

    James Franco/Ryan Gosling better win. Or make it a tie for both of them. Please?

  • faye

    I love katie’s dress, it is really pretty.

  • AJ

    Excited for Inception, the Social Network, Natalie Portman, Christopher Nolan and Jacki Weaver. No doubt The Kids Are All Right will win Best Comedy since its competitors have had terrible critical response. The weird thing is, The Tourist was labelled one of the worst films this year, and it gets a nomination, yet Scott Pilgrim VS the World was labelled on of the best, and there’s no recognition whatsoever.

    Hans Zimmer should get his award. Christopher Nolan should get best screenplay, especially since he’s been working 10 years for Inception. Disappointing there were no acting noms for the Pacific. It’s between the Social Network and the King’s Speech for Best Drama, even though I’m rooting for Inception, TSN or TKS are more likely to get them.

    Cheers! Been researching this for months now so I’m very informative about my options! For a 16 year old guy I’m artistic when it comes to cinema!

    Katie looks so pretty. Surprised at the noms for The Tourist.

  • Dani

    @AJ:

    The Golden Globe panel that does the nominees are foreign press members and their tastes are different than American press. If you are researching this–then research internationally. People are proclaiming the Tourist a bomb, but it will probably do very well overseas just like Narnia will. People proclaimed Australia a bomb, but overseas it was a big hit bringing in 76 percent of the gross revenue and DVD sales were huge. Personally I thought Jolie and Depp and the movie Tourist was great fun. And Scott Pilgrim was not good at all.

    Should be an interesting race tho.

    Katie cleans up good. Your the man President Martinez…..

  • Claudia

    These nominations must be a joke. Seriously “Burlesque” and “The Tourist”? Two movies who got incredible bad reviews and deserving so. No matter how much I liked their previous work or how much star power Angelina and Johnny have, that movie was a disappointment. I’m starting to believe these awards should be called People’s Choice Awards/ MTV Movie Awards etc. instead.

  • sayuri

    Cadê o Leonardo DiCaprio??? =O Por “Shutter Island” and ” Inception”? This is not fear!

  • Flopalina

    I apologize to my fans for The Tourist comedy

  • hougyfg

    the tourist is a comedy? and halle berry is nominated?? for what?? monster’s balls again?!? i’ve seen that porn long ago!

  • AJ

    @Dani: I understand what you mean, but I got the professional opinion from a film critical board in the USA which labelled the 10 best and 10 worst films of 2010. Even check IMDb, The Tourist has a rating of 6.1/20 whilst Scott Pilgrim had a rating of 7.9/10.

  • http://nicole Alice Cutie

    Nicole you’re gonna win!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • juniper

    Some of those people and films listed seem like a joke.

  • David

    @latam2012 a wrong ‘un: You’re very sad.

  • Kiki

    Yeah, I was very surprised about the Tourist being nominated, but I actually thought Burlesque was pretty darn good. I know that the majority of movie goers loved it as well…even those that had low expectations of the film. It wasn’t the best movie ever, yes, but it was highly entertaining, and the soundtrack for the film is amazing. Plus it had an exceptional cast that made the predictable plotline of the film worked.

  • WOW

    @hougyfg:No she was nominated for Frankie and Alice moron.

  • and the winner is…..

    WORST ACCENT IN AN UNINTEDED COMEDY
    .
    Angelina Jolie

  • Dani

    @AJ:

    I understand where you are coming from, but having lived in Europe, I don’t think the Foreign Press Association cares what the ratings are. They have their own agenda. And this year regardless of the quality of the films, they seem to be going for star power. Look at all the nominees. There are very few surprises in terms of unknowns, small films, and even foreign actors/actresses etc. I have a feeling the night of the Globes is going to dazzle with power. Look at all the A-Listers that are going to be there–Depp, Jolie/Pitt, Kidman/Urban, Berry, etc. If they can find a way to get TomKat and Aniston there–they will. I don’t know if they are going for ratings this year or what, but there were many small deserving films out there and many foreign actors/actresses that deserved recognition.

    P.S. I don’t know where you live, but check out (google) Talk Cinema and see if there is a location near you. It is pricey (about $20 a movie, slightly cheaper with a subscription), but you get to see a lot of indies etc. before they are released. Last fall a bunch of the movies I saw ended up nominated (Slumdog etc) and it was great seeing movies I might never have gone to see as well as hearing knowledgeable people – directors, critics etc talk about the film after we saw it).

  • Mikayla

    James Franco deserves best actor in a drama! He was absolutely amazing in 127 hours!!!!!

  • http://Ja Slig^_^

    I know she always very sad

  • ModestMouse

    LOL at The Tourist, Alice in Wonderland and Burlesque.

    Bigger lol at Jennifer Love Hewitt.

    Happy for Jesse Eisenberg, Elisabeth Moss, Emma Stone, Hayley Atwell, Katey Sagal, Edie Falco, Nurse Jackie, Jennifer Lawrence, Andrew Garfield and The Social Network, though.

  • AJ

    @Dani: Oh well we have our own opinions right? I’m living in Australia BTW.

  • Claudia

    @Dani: You are right. They are going for star power / ratings this year more than in last years. I think it’s a shame. This awards are supposed to reward quality and not be only just a spectacle with a lot of big names.

  • an oldie

    If they are going for stars, how come they didn’t nominate Aniston? She is a bigger star than Jolie.

  • ple

    Give Andrew Garfield that GG please :D He is one f* good actor.

  • fixed globes

    as real as Kate Gosselin’s new boobs
    true creativity can’t exist in profit driven Hollywood

  • jol

    why didn’t they nominate Leonardo DiCaprio? He is one of the best actors of his generation, ALL his movies are awesome and he always delivers… his acting in Inception was supreme, what’s wrong why the golden globes? Leo is so undervalued in Hollywood…

  • ModestMouse

    Leonardo DiCaprio is undervalued in Hollywood? You’ve got to be kidding me. He gets the best scripts in Hollywood. Awards are irrelevant to one’s popularity. It took two decades for Al Pacino to get an Oscar.

  • Jin

    @Claudia:

    The nominations for Burlesque and The Tourist movies are not for Best Picture. Please re-read the nominations again. I have seen The Tourist, and I thought it was actually a delightful movie. I do not understand why the movie got a low rating in most critic reviews. I have long ago avoided to go with the hype, now I might as well not consult critics reviews on which movie to watch. I believe they have been badly infected with hidden agenda for some people in the entertainmnent business, and not for the benefit of movie goers.
