Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson have separated, a rep for Ryan confirms to JustJared.com.
“After long and careful consideration on both our parts, we’ve decided to end our marriage,” the 34-year-old actor and his wife of two years, 26, said in a statement. “We entered our relationship with love and it’s with love and kindness we leave it. While privacy isn’t expected, it’s certainly appreciated.”
TMZ was the first to report the split.

Maybe the reason we are hearing about all these splits is that these stars think that with Christmas and the holidays as well as the publicity surrounding their acting buddies–maybe their peccadilloes will not be scrutinized as much? I know most of their publicists are savvy enough to know when the most opportune time in terms of lack of publicity is. Most try and split or do whatever after the mags go to press. But the last spate is sure to hit People, Star, the National Enquirer etc this Friday!
