Chris Brown: I'm Done With Domestic Violence Class

Chris Brown has completed a court-ordered 52-week domestic violence course and he’s proudly showing off the certificate.

“I’m done with class,” the 21-year-old singer tweeted on Monday (December 20), along with a photo of the signed certificate of completion.

Last year, Chris pleaded guilty to assaulting then-girlfriend Rihanna in February 2009.

As part of the plea deal, he received five years probation and 180 days of community service.

“Last year, Chris pleaded guilty to felony assault after hitting then-girlfriend Rihanna in February 2009.”

Hitting Rihanna? Ha, you mean beating the shit out of her..

  • JC

You don’t need a piece of paper to say you don’t hit women. Just don’t hit women.

  • Honestly

I really don’t know what to think about Chris Brown.
I don’t know if the public must think it was a one time awful accident and
    give him a second chance.
Anyway, I suppose he made enough money for the short time he had a
clean image. I don’t think he will be able to get that image back because
Rihanna is one of the most popular singers in the world and has a huge
    fan base.
But 21 years old is too young to be condemned forever.

  • Stan

Wow, a certificate of completion. Well, I’m convinced….

  • offtheproperty

I believe he took this seriously and has taken responsibility for something he did that he acknowledges was wrong. Something that people of his own father’s generation could do and did with impunity. I think he is a good man. Ironically, one of the few in his line of work. IMO.

  • Lea

I am neither Chris Brown nor Rihanna fan…I am too old for their “music”, anyway…. I will give him a second chance. He is young and had made a terrible mistake…It looked like he took responsibility and try to better himself. He is still growing up as a man and figure out his life as he has a history of violence in his family, if I am not mistaken. There is no excuse for what he did, but it’s like not giving an former addict who turned his life around a second chance. Life is not black and white, people! Personally I think their relation was toxic and it brought the worst in him.

    Idiot.

  • Diana

Love you chris you will always have my support

  • Madhatter

He was forced to take that class.

I can’t stand his personality- even if he resists his urge to beat the cr*p out of another girl- he’ll always be an obnoxious jerk.

  • sit

I still dont get why everybody so mad that he beat the shit out of Rihanna…Lmao for everything he went thro i am just mad he didnt crack a bone or broke her nose…..

    #yomadstaymad…

  • Diana

Since when did you have to have a clean image to be a singer? Do you know how many dope dealers and ex gangbangers are played on your radio every day? Smh he will be fine all he has to do is keep doing what he is doing now

  • wok

Well the judge said really good things about him, and judges see cases like these so often. I’ll refrain from judging, I threw a couple of punches back in the day, though not at a woman.

  • nata

Didn’t his PR people tell him to stop reminding people about what he did? Why would he want to bring this all back into people’s memory?

  • TabiCat

woopty fkin doo!!! was it really necessary for him to broadcast that information. He’s acting like he won a prize or something…smfh

  • Mela

    @Honestly: I agree..

He’s young enough to learn. He can change. He is not set in his ways. He’s made the effort to change.

    Good for him.

  • Partyharty

He’s disgusting. I remember after he beat the crap out of her, he was out jet-skiing and living it up like nothing had happened. The only remorse he felt was when he got his hand slapped for it and his career took a hit. The slimebag should have been locked up!

  • Keesha

I wish him the best. To be honest, if you don’t like him, why are you even checking for him? Why are you on here commenting about how he’ll still be a jerk? I really don’t get that.

  • xtincta

Charlie Sheen has done far worse and he’s the highest paid actor on television just sayin’. Even Mark Wahlberg blinded a man when he was younger and people have moved past that. I wish him the best……

  • ruma

@Partyharty: He went jet skiing with Rihanna..

  • Toodles

the guy has been congratulated by his judge for following the rules and serving his punishment. he is taking responsibility, and this is a positive thing…it just loses a bit of legitimacy and seems a tad childish to “tweet” it.

  • Hope

I’ve been in a physical and abusive relationship before and it really puts a big toll on your life. I’m glad Chris and Rihanna went their own separate ways. I hope the bad experience will humble them. I wish them both the best of luck

  • sit

    @Partyharty:

so what he was partying and jet skiing with rihanna and her friends……

  • Dexter’s girlfriend

why didn’t rianna go to that class?

  • http://T.com Kaz simply amazing! Pretty!!!!!!!

    he want ugly rihanna

  • Thai

He didnt beat Rihanna at all, it was all a setup and Brown was the scapegoat. Rihanna fooled a whole world and played the victim extremely well. She deserves an Oscar for it. The real victim was Brown.

  • lilia

good for you and dont get mixed up with that nut case rihanna

  • Hmmm

People still Judging Chris i see. Hope none of us ever have to be Forgiven cuz we sure love to JUDGE!

  • Hmmm

    I agree with Thai #30
    -
She should get an Oscar! She played that part very well!

  • Sadie

its funny how Rihanna was supposed to be the innocent one..
What happened to the fact that it was her who started it?..
If she hit him and was being nasty.. no wonder that he hit her back.
Yeah I know blah blah blah men arent supposed to hit women, but still i feel like the media praised Rihanna without any reason! wtf she even won the women of the year award back then? For what?
Chris Brown was wrong to hit her, but its time to move on.
    People make mistakes.
    Deal with it.

  • tinkerbell

Maybe he had genuine problems? some guys have anger issues, and I can imagine Rihanna being a bit..irritating since she annoys the living crap out of me, still not a reason to beat a woman, but still she’s annoying.

  • Diana

People are such hypocrites! Eminem makes a number 1 song about beating up kim yet no 1 says a thing about it. Charlie sheen beats SEVERAL women but yet he still has the number 1 comedy in america. Christian bale assults his own mother yet he can still play a super hero? Why is this 1 time teenage offender held to a different standard then anyone else can someone plz explain this to me? Chris is clearly making an effort to lmprove himself and these judgemental people are on here acting like their the perfect human being who has never did anything wrong. If emenim, charlie sheen, sean connery, terence howard, christian bale, jay z, Dr dre, tommy lee all get second chances then so does chris!!!!!!

  • Blah

First of all to all the people who are saying that he was forced to take the classes, right after the incident he was taking dv classes (WAYY BEFORE HE WAS ORDERED TO DO ANYTHING)! You people are so stupid. What do you want? Do you want him to just give in and hit people and be disrespectful to everyone? Kill himself? I don’t understand why people don’t just encourage good behavior. You all said that you’d be surprised if he did well at what he is doing now but when he does complete stuff and does a god thing you push him back down and say that he aint shit. So for all those saying that I hope you realize that he’s laughing at how pathetic you sound! He’s going to do the right thing regardless no matter what anyone says. He is doing alright and his fans and supporters will stick by his side through it all to make sure that he doesn’t just give up. Nothing you say will break him. Oh and all the people here that claim dv is so bad still support Eminem when he beat his wife multiple times and even wrote a song about wanting to kill her a million times but it’s ok right? Oh sorry… So Eminem can stay on top but Chris can’t wow. Charlie Sheen or whatever can keep his career but Chris can’t. I think the people who are so quick to judge should look at themselves for a minute. When have you never done anything that you are not proud of. It was in the heat of the moment and whether you want to believe it or not he is trying sooo hard to be a better person. If there were anything to be happy or support him for it would be the will to change because many people don’t…..

  • Blah

@Diana: Omg! I was thinking the same thing! People are so stupid sometimes!

  • anybody?anybody?

@JC: absolutely agree! why should we be happy that he graduated a domestic violence class? should we forget why he took that class in the first place? this whole cleaning up his image thing is horrible and i don’t agree with everyone who’s been fooled into thinking he’s a “better man.” if you listen carefully, he doesn’t sound too apologetic— it’s “why aren’t i given a second chance? rihanna’s getting tons of support why not me? i’m cleaning garbage on the side of the road, shouldn’t that be enough?” It’s not sincere if your PR people make you say it and you’re more worried about why you can’t sell albums

  • http://revloncosmetics.com Ms Barleo Gaga Pitt Fan

A REAL man would NEVER EVER EVER have to go to a CLASS to find out he should not hit women just like a REAL PARENT does not have to go to a class to find out they cannot abuse children. What a creep. Some PR just in time for Christmas for this woman abuser. Disgusting. San NO to violence against women – I don’t care how rich the guy is.

  • http://revloncosmetics.com Ms Barleo Gaga Pitt Fan

I hope the people excusing his behavior are NOT young women. How sad women learn to think it is ok to be hit. Just like some kids thinks it’s ok to be abused and don’t tell anyone. I believe there is a special place in inferno for men who beat women and abuse children. No excuses for them. Rich or poor. It is NEVER ok.

  • Diana

No 1 is excusing his behavior I just dont believe he should be nailed to a cross for what he did. He was rightly puunished and from what his judge and the people supervising him are saying he is doing an outstanding job at rehabilitation. You also have to consider this young mans background, him and his mother were victems of domestic violence. And if you go and check, statistics will show that a huge percentage of kids who grow up under simular circumstances become involved in abusive relationships. Chris is making an attempt to exscape the demons from his past and should be given the opportunity to do.

  • Diana

Smh what a bunch of hypocrites

  • Laura

Okay so maybe he beat the crap out of Rihanna and i must agree there is NO excuse for that but he’s young and still has a lot to learn. He’s clearly sorry about his actions and is doing something to change them. What else do people want? He’s a freaking human being

  • http://justjared Mjforlife

I am happy for him he needs to move on with his life I hope people who damn him to hell don’t need to apologize for anything in their lives they might meet with judgmental people like them self on the other side.
It is clear this was a toxic relationship between two really young people (under 20) with violent history on both families that took a tool on both so they are better apart .

  • http://www.peterlyon.com General Contractor Los Altos

funny there is a certificate for violence course..

    General Contractor Los Altos

  • steve

Well, that’s something to put on a resume’.

  • Jeremy

    @ruma:

WTF he did not go Jet Skiing with Rihanna after the incident DUMB ASS !!

  • Eden

Did he complete Dating 101 too?

  • smh

CB did his time it’s time for Rihanna fans to move on and QUIT bashing this guy. He was a respectable person before the incident and he now wants to be that guy again. Plus the judge said he has completed his program and he has followed all the procedures. So job well done for completing his program and learning form his mistakes.

But he is not a CHARLIE SHEEN and i don’t understand why do white ppl get away w/ all this and BLACKS get punished?? ELIN WOODS assaulted TIGER WOODS but nobody really cared they were focusing on TIGER WOODS “white mistresses”.

The racist media in america really puzzles me and i don’t understand why ppl believe everything they hear on TV?? Rihanna is guilty just like CB is in this case, i think they are both VICTIMS here. But since she is a woman ppl are looking at it at a different perspective.
