I will never understand why anyone is interested in the royal family. They are no better than anyone else. What a waste of money.

Who cares? What a waste of time! Instead of using those money for smth really good and necessary, u invested it in a shitty coin. Idiots!

cammie, i agree with you-before the engagement, the media didn’t care for her too much but now that she’s secured her place, they’re going into overdrive with damage control.
going back to the coin though, ironic how the palace celebrates with a coin while many brits are wondering how to feed their children, pay for school, not buy a celebratory coin.

  • anybody?anybody?

HAHA i think they gave prince william more hair than he has in real life. and a lot of people are right, i think we’re foolish for getting so swept up with two people who are only special because of some title they were lucky to be born with and don’t really deserve. but who doesn’t like a fairytale wedding? if they’re lucky to get it they should enjoy!

  • Toodles

what are we supposed to do with this information…this coin?

  • Sheri

Where’d Wills get all the hair….and that looks nothing like “Catherine”!

ok…. most of these comments are probably coming from americans so its like you don’t really understand what a big deal this is at one point in the next 30 or 40 years this man and woman will be king and queen of my country and nearly 20 or so around the world. and its important to remember when they get married not to mention they’ve been going out for nearly 10 years.

  • jack

Sounds like a lot of sour grapes cause Barry and Moochie weren’t invited to the wedding. First time in history our leader hasn’t been invited to a royal wedding. I guess the Queen wasn’t all that thrilled with being mugged by Moochie or the I pod full of Barry reading his telepromter.

The public interest on the royalty had DIED already when Princess Diana had passed away.

The British Royal family serves a useful purpose: they represent the United Kingdom and the British Commonwealth. They are the heads of state. Instead, the British Prime Minister and other British politicians avoid wasting time dealing with ceremonial nonsense such as receiving foreign ambassadorial credentials, appearing at elementary schools to give pep talks, engaging in publicity stunts to inform the public, ribbon cuttings, etc. The British elected rulers can spend time governing because the publicity and any time consuming formalities and publicity are handled by the Royal Family.

The royal family symbolizes the continuity of the United Kingdom and its peoples that transcend any politician and any era.

Not being a Democrat or Republican matter, unfortunately, the President of the United States, regardless whether the president is Barack Obama or was George Washington, has had to waste time dealing both with nonsense and the serious matters This is not a Democrat or Republican issue. For any president it must be tiring to have to deal with the sublime to the ridiculous, whereas, at least in the UK, the Royal Family, not the elected officials, deal with the “ridiculous”.

I surmise that those who criticize the British Royal Family as a waste to time are the very same people that waste time viewing all the reality television that has made stars of ignoramuses and nobodies–ref: Jersey Shore strumpets and punks; the Kardasians; the various housewives of such and such; TV news anchors, music industry miscreants-Madonna, Lady Gaga, Snoop Dog, Brittany Spears, Lindsey Lohan, et all; and other media types that people in the USA must waste time knowing about their lives. These misfits are American Royalty that too may Americans idolize and idealize but who are really a bunch of lowlifes. I know about these scoundrels because the endless TV promotions about them and or some misconduct about one or more of them trumpeted in the media as if the significance were the Second Coming.

Until Americans forego their ‘royalty’ that are various media misfits, Americans have no justification to decry the British Royal family’s purpose. Even the British should be cognizant that the Royal Family has its value and is a far better alternative to observe than the boorish entertainment, media, and sports “schlaubs” that Americans worship as deities.
